This is an acute focus on one of the possibly significant factors in the demise of Rome as a world-empire, the mosquito. Malaria was deduced as a cause of death on a mass scale around 450 AD in southern Italy, especially. Archaeologists uncovered mass graves and texts of widespread disease that all traces back to this fatal "bad air."
Let's find out just how extensive the damage was to the Roman empire, and how much the "invading" Germans really had to conquer after the mosquitoes were done with it.

It's always great to find ASMR videos about ancient Rome (and history ASMR in general) - Rome is such a broad subject that it always feels like there's so much more to learn about it, so I think that focusing in on a specific part or event (like the mosquitoes) works really well. Did the Romans make the connection between malaria and mosquitoes, or did they think the malaria was in the air itself ie. the ancient concept of "humors"? BTW my grandfather is Italian. They had malaria all the time and it was still quite common until after the war.

Let's Find Out ASMR I see him as a curator of ideas rather than an innovative thinker, and he seems incapable of recognizing his own bias. It’s easier for him to claim his critics simply misunderstand his points than for him to admit some of his points are just incorrect. He does have an ego though and I do appreciate the slight chastising for that. 😝
