My initial experiences with ASMR on KZbin were just watching his painting videos and compilations of his knife sounds, and you’ve been the main channel I’ve fallen asleep to for a long time now, so a dedicated Bob Ross video from you is like ASMR coming full circle for me. Edit: I had to edit out 3 different bob ross clips and the owners (not Bob's family) finally allowed the video to be monetized and visible in England and Germany. Original post: FYI, the Kowalski's strike again... this video got demonetized (and entirely removed in The UK and Germany) because they disputed two 30-second clips that were relevant to the story. I hope they will be resolved if I edit them out, but seems greasy and greedy. I probably won't be supporting Bob Ross Inc. in the future. -Rich

Thanks for the video dude. Need to go back and watch it, I fell asleep about 10 minutes in. I have a video idea for you to look into, how about the history of ASMR. When you think about it, the phenomenon is crazier than people give it credit for. Seemingly, people were getting tingles for ever and probably viewed it as just a personal experience. The internet came along though and we all kind of found out this ASMR thing is real. I think it actually is one of the craziest tales in internet history. Thanks for the great content man!

I'm old enough to have watched Bob's show on PBS in the 1980s when it began becoming noticeable to viewers. This was during my college years. I was always artistic (thanks, Mom!), ever since I could hold a crayon, and Bob's technique fascinated me. It was so simple, and he rapidly created a landscape in such a small amount of time. At first I was taken aback a bit because the style reminded me of those quaint "motel room paintings" you find while traveling on family holiday trips. Well, it did not take long for me to notice that his warm and casual demeanor and soft-spoken style were having a strong and pleasing effect on me. (I'm saying _effect_ here because I refuse to use "impact" as a noun ... because it's become rampant these days in general conversation and in the media. So tired of it; it's as if most of the general public have inexplicably forgotten words like influence and aftermath and ramifications, and they're just copying each other like sheep. But I digress, LOL.) What I experienced from The Joy of Painting, and still do all these years later, was not proper ASMR, to my knowledge. It was merely a state of relaxation that was, at times, almost powerful enough to induce drowsiness. No tingles or anything. But it was so nice. Rarely do you find a television personality who is that calming and who exudes tranquility. Bob's accent and his amusing anecdotes and the delightful recurring catch phrases were a pleasure. And I'm very glad that generations have been enjoying his legacy via television, DVD's, streaming, and websites-- like the Twitch marathon, or here on KZbin.

So I came across your channel quite by accident here just the other day, but I have to say, WOW, what an awesome channel. The funny thin is that I have obviously been an ASMR-junkie all my life, because I've always enjoyed teachers and speakers whom others think is boring or make them sleepy and so on. Not that it isn't great when you're going to sleep, but it's great otherwise too. I am, of course, a big Bob Ross fan myself, and I'm also a science physics cosmology junkie so this really couldn't be better, my good Sir. I just LOVE Carl Sagan's old TV-series Cosmos, and how he narrates is a huge part of that. So thank you very much for your videos, good Sir, and you're very welcome for me probably watching most everyone in the months ahead, subscribing and writing this comment. Again, truly awesome stuff!!
