This was good to watch. One idea for you. In sewing stores or quilt stores they will sometimes have a self healing scrubbing tool. Kind of a silicone type thing with knobbles on it. It will get paper fibres out of the cuts and help seal the mat. If you want pic just let me know. I don’t have one but I have seen them

I have this tool, if we are thinking of the same one- it's square and rubbery. You can use it to easily clean the stickiness off your scissors. I mainly use the tool to pick up ATG and dried glue, off of my paper projects from places I don't want it. It works great and is a must have tool, in my opinion. On Amazon the tool is called a Glue & Residue Eraser / Rubber Cement Cleaner. I've bought them at JoAnns as well, around their sewing tools I think.

@ are you thinking adhesive remover? Like an eraser? The one I’m talking about is a bit different. Just a silicone pad with knobbles on it. Kind like a makeup brush scrubber pad idea but it’s made for cleaning cutting mats
@reEngineeredPaper17 сағат бұрын
@@joycehuff9769 Yeah, the one I have and mentioned above is an actual adhesive remover. So I guess we weren't talking about the same thing, oops my bad. There's also a Tool called a Rotary Mat Smoother that is meant for cutting/healing mats that removes knicks, burrs, and fibers. Those are also nice to help clean and keep your cutting mat looking new.

I found out that plastic over time “breaks down” and becomes sticky. Alcohol is the perfect way to clean these items. I had the little people nativity toys for my kids and they were all sticky one year as I brought them out for Christmas. I did some research and that’s how I found out about the alcohol. And thank you for doing this video. We all need a gentle reminder to clean our tools. We’ve invested a lot of money in them.

@@joycehuff9769 oh yea I have 2 of those. Sometimes it’s faster to just wipe it down with a cloth. But that reminds me that I need to charge both of them lol 🥰

I should seriously watch entire video before commenting. For the tools you were going to soak with dish soap try the Dawn power wash. It works great! Amazing product

I didn't know I needed this video in my life until you did it! I couldn't figure out how to clean my score-board! Thx u. My scissors I clean them with a rubber eraser and that takes forever! So, thx u! And the alcohol spray at the end is the scrapperfect? Or is it something else?

@@xochitlm7586 lol that’s funny! So glad that it was helpful. The alcohol is what I used on the glass mat. It works great on glass. The Scraperfect is great to remove glue residue 😉

I'm wondering if the Best Cleaner Ever will remove ink stains from my mat. I'll have to order some. I kept seeing this mark on your mat that you weren't even trying to clean -- ya, it was on my laptop screen.

I just use alcohol or hand sanitizer, but not on any of my paper trimmers, and both work great. Leaves no oily residue which I prefer.
