I am from India🇮🇳. And India has 115000 km railway network. India also used E 📎clips with tracks. This is very good and informative video🎥. I like so much. 🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

We used this same system on the Weipa line. Four spikes through the plate into a pre-drilled Ironwood sleeper (cross-tie) and a Pandrol E clip on each side of the rail.

Here in North America, there are still old fashioned railroad spikes on wooden ties (sleepers) in use.

E-clip fasteners are used in some applications in North American railroads which include some railroad switches (turnouts) and sharp curves on mainline track.

We use E clips in India . Wooden sleepers are replaced with prestressed concrete sleepers .

Please clarify why there never a sleeper beneath the rail joint. Had it bee there the unwanted noise that produced at the time of wheel jump could have been avoided?

This is supposed to be a PANDROL PR-clip. Turn the clip through 180 deg then it is a PANDROL e-Clip. The PR-Clip and e-Clip comes with different bar diameters. The bigger the bar diameter the bigger the clamping force. The clamping force for an e-Clip is between 800-1400kg per clip depending on the bar diameter. The PR clip in this video produces between 550-1000kg depending on bar diameter. The geometry for PR-Clip and e-Clip is slightly different because of the orientation you install the clips. The Clip in the video is not correct. Also the leg that goes into the shoulder is longer for PR and eClip. It reaches the end of the shoulder in most cases. These clips are made from Spring Steel. When the clip enters the shoulder it deflects and bends. You need a special tool or machine to pull them in. If you need any information on these clips please ask.

How are these clips held to the sleeper/crosstie? How is the track gauge held?

The clips are secured in the shoulder and the shoulder is bolted to the tie..idk why they didn't illustrate that.

Does not even show how the pad fastens to the sleeper. Does not indicate any advantage over other types.
