Gavin seems to be stupid but if you watch things like slo mo guys and the RT podcast, you'll very quickly realise he's actually fairly intelligent and just likes to act the idiot. I for one, think that it is pretty funny when it's organic and/or when it's just a minor aside that only affects him (ie, not when he fucks over his teammates for a cheap laugh).
