Ryan: Dawkins v State defines "stand your ground" as a "right to expect absolute safety in a place [you] have a right to be". Basically you can fire at an unlawful intruder if you think your life is in danger without having to retreat. In the case of some state laws and UN human rights rulings, there's a "duty to retreat" which requires you to take "reasonable steps" to avoid a violent confrontation before resorting to deadly force. A fair amount of team killing in this game is down to Jack being the biggest hindrance they have. He stands in the door way forcing the people with guns to hide behind him, instead of him running into the room and using his shield to "shield" their entry. They have to shoot over his shoulder and when he turns he moves into their line of sight. He needs to ditch the shield and use another support. Fuze with a shield would be a good fit for him.

+Sam It's true. While in real life the way he uses the shield maybe effective since troops could stick the barrel of their gun beyond the shield. However, everything in front of your screen might as well be 2d since despite you literally putting your face into a wall it still looks like your gun is up. I've yet to see games take into account the profile of your gun and how far out it is from your body. It's one of the reasons that carbines, smgs, and pistols are so widely used compared to assault rifles. For example when American troops had fought in urban environments where they had kick doors down and clear buildings room by room the long profile of the m16 was a huge hindrance. Their staple stock didn't help either. I once heard that troops had put the stocks over their shoulder to cut off some inches on their profile.

cody morris Most games do account for it, but you don't really notice it. Such as Rainbow Six, when you are against a wall as far as you can walk it is accounting for the profile of your gun, so for other players your body is further away from the wall. In other games, like Far Cry 4 you have an animation of putting up your gun and leaning against the wall. It's actually the functionality of the cover system, but still accounts for it.

I'm pretty new to the whole LetsPlay, started to watch their 7Days to Die and have watched random GTA V videos in the past, and then other videos. I like Gavin, I do. He IS funny, though dislike him in 7days to die. However, the community seems to always defend Gavin for everything. Every video, everyone seems to just laugh and go "Oh gavin~" Plus everyone seems to be jumping Jack's shouting, but Jack didn't even seem actually upset and just talking loud. I mean gavin killed jack, it was funny, I'd even say planed since he had his gun aimed at the back of his head. But majority of the top comments are "Jack gets mad at Gavin killing him when he was the dumbass that stood on the claymore".

You're invulnerable, so move forward to draw fire, and open up fire lanes for those behind you. @27:38, prime example: nobody can shoot him, unless they step in front of you (eliminating the usefulness of a shield altogether) - if you side-step ahead, and left, the shooter follows you, and you open up a lane for Gavin to advance and shoot, with cover of the wooden beam. @28:48, Ryan accidentally shoots you because he has no lane of fire with your frame in the entire doorway - you only need to be in half the doorway to draw fire, and it leaves friends a window to shoot through. Calling out targets doesn't help your team shoot them, if they have no lane of fire.

sooo uh in the last video Jeremy was labeled as Gavin, I figured it out when Jeremy said he was going up a ladder, but the tag said it was Gavin. At around 48:00 he becomes Jack. sooo Jeremy did in fact have footage, the editors bulluxed it.

Gavin was very sneaky. Shooting Jack in the back while using a claymore as defense. You can clearly see the bullet count go down and sight shake. Can't fool me Mr. Free.

I love how Jack picks Montagne every time and still doesn't play him properly. He literally called out a bomb guy, and instead of using his full body shield to protect his team, he proceeds to move out of the way and let his team take all the explosive damage while he took none. That shield does protect your from most of the explosive damage Jack. You will at least take a lot less damage than your team, who you are supposed to be protecting.

I am quite pleased with the was Jack handles the shield. The only thing I would like him to try is to step aside when a bomb guy comes towards them. Since the bomb guy doesn't shoot, Jack's shield is meaningless. It is only in the way of the others so that they can't kill the bomb guy. He yells "BOMB GUY BOMB GUY" and often the guys don't know what he's talking about and/or they are not able to shoot him without hitting Jack.
