I love when AH gets into something that's related to Halo like this. It's so nostalgic :) I'd probably say that Halo 2 is my favorite because it was my first Halo and me & all of my online buddies met in that multiplayer. As for maps, I've always loved Headlong the most. I think it was the most innovative map with how large it was so you could use vehicles without strain.

EternalAssasin I kinda preferred 3's multiplayer because it was better balanced, required very few tweaks overall, and the maps were generally more innovative. Like Standoff. I fucking loved Standoff. A lot of people seem to forget that Halo 2 was very broken out of the box, and it took ages for them to patch it into what everybody remembers. On the other hand, H2 had probably the most memorable maps (ascension, lockout) that they kept remaking over and over again. (The only Lockout remake I liked was Blackout, as the map was slightly different, but correctly tweaked for H3's engine, unlike the Reach and 4 versions, which were Forged, and full of glitches and shit.)

Halo 1 to me had the most memorable levels, Halo 2 was the most competitive (mlg, Walshy, Snip3down, ogres, anyone?), Halo 3 had a pretty damn closem as competitive multiplayer to the H2 but prevailed in custom games, Halo Reach had by far the best forge, and Halo 4... well it's there

I've never played a Halo game, can someone explain to me why every vehicle is named after an animal?

All of the UNSC (human) vehicles are named after animals (Scorpion, Warthog, Elephant, etc.) And all the Covenant (alien) vehicles are named after spirits (Ghost, Banshee, Reverent, etc.) I'm not sure EXACTLY why but it does help keep them sorted into categories and also it sounds a lot cooler than ATV or Chopper...

Here in iceland the direct translation of the icelandic name of mammoth is "Hairy elephant". Seems oddly appropriate since it's well, a hairy elephant.
