Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” ˚*❋♡Luke 2:8-14♡❋*˚

I remember when I was 16 yrs old being woken up to sirens blaring in front of my house. Turns out that the bodies of 2 men had been dumped across the street from our front door. The last story was tragically beautiful! Sad to know others lost their lives, but to know the goodness left in humanity still existed during what is the purest holiday for children. Very heart warming and heart breaking story.
@dahliacheung602010 ай бұрын
Seriously. That story was beautiful and that man is a blessing in disguise in the most literal sense! Imo, the meaning of Christmas can be summed up in three words: "consideration of others". Or "showing others love." Or even, "hope, peace, and harmony," if you're a Live Laugh Love kind of person. Despite that capitalist society has put a huge emphasis on Christmas being about consumerism which makes some people want to just go "screw this," I like the holiday season because of the few times we get to see people going out of their way to do kind things for others, even sometimes above and beyond nice gestures that people do year round. It kind of helps restore at least a little bit of faith in humanity, most years at least

I worked in the toy department of store in a mall. I'm vertically challenged, so when the elf they hired didn't show up after an hour and the kids were all screaming, the mall decided I was going to be the elf. So off I go the center of the mall and poke my head inside the tent in back to find Santa drinking whiskey and half lit up. Now there is a huge line of kids outside and I didn't want to be the one to spoil Christmas for them so I told Santa to put the bottle back in his bag and get his jolly fat ass out there and ho ho ho it up for the kids. How I pulled it off, I still don't know but all the kids laughed at Santa's stinky breathe as I handed them a candy cane and escorted them off. Their whispers made my misery better. LOL

I was never told the Santa Clause myth as a kid as we weren't told fairy-tales in the modern happy way kids receive them. Tales were told keep us vigilant and cautious of threats. So no way in hell would my mother tell us it was okay for a stranger to be in our home at night. I find this mentality odd.
@tablescissors2 жыл бұрын
Yet, here YOU are, part of the very same threats supposedly prevented and devoid of magic...fueled by ego and fear. Incapable of imagining otherwise. No, your mother did not ultimately do you a service, but perhaps it is not too late to realize the true lessons that have nothing to do with a need to announce smug superiority; life is not just papercut out dolls and it's okay for you to be hurt. It really is, my dear Grinch.
