Never apologize for you fluency in English. If you have a different mother tongue, you are under no abligation to know English at all, let alone fluent English. Never let anyone make you feel bad for not speaking proper English. Be proud of your mother tongue. Why should we learn their language when they mock and refuse to learn our own? If someone makes fun of your English then they probably only speak English. So make fun of them for not being multilingual like you!

I'm an English teacher, and English is also my second language. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I mean it in the most positive sense possible: I just want to bring to your attention that you are using your tags wrongly. Tags are prompt questions at the end of a statement to evoke a response from the listener. In your video you say: "Speaking a foreign language can be really intimidating, isn't it?" "You're too nervous that you might offend people, isn't it?" "You need to build confidence in order to speak a new language, isn't it?" "When you pose for pictures in front of a camera you smile, isn't it?" These sentences should read: "Speaking a foreign language can be really intimidating, can't it?" "You're too nervous that you might offend people, aren't you?" "You need to build confidence in order to speak a new language, needn't you?" and "When you pose for pictures in front of a camera you smile, don't you?" I hope this is helpful. Other than that, your video is great and you have the perfect attitude towards learning this crazy language.

Dewald Minnie I'm assured she knows grammar well. For someone who isn't a native speaker it's quite difficult to keep the conversation flowing and be sure if everything said is grammatically correct. P.S. And it wasn't very polite of you to criticise your colleague even if you meant it in the nicest possible way.

John Pino Well, the purpose of this video is to give tips on how to build up your confidence when speaking English. It's not a grammar lesson focusing on the use of question tags. It was unnecessary and irrelevant of him to comment on such minor mistakes in the video where the main topic is to BUILD CONFIDENCE. How on earth people interested in English will be encouraged and motivated to practise speaking while there are teachers who will likely discourage them every time they try to say smth.

+Настя Месс champion, the whole idea of him pointing out 'isnt it' and can't it and the others in his list is about grammar those are from a bpo and call center statements i have worked for over 16-17 companies and am talkin abt phone support.. am not a native english speak m8 but i dnt have these issues, she can take that as a feedback to improve or leave it, but everythin what Dewald Minnie said is right thats his feedback to her, if u would ask me who am i to say that, i have been speakin english from birth my parent dint want me to have MTI.. xD

A great thing about English is that there are _so_ many non-native speakers of different abilities. So there is no need to lack confidence or feel embarrassed talking to a native speaker. He has heard worse before, no matter how "bad" you _think_ you are. ;-)

Hello. I watched your video for the first time 2 years ago and I followed your tips from the first moment. Obviously, I´ve studied every day to increase my grammar and my vocabulary. I´ve also practiced every day with many different people, latinos who speak English, British, Americans, South Africans, etc, etc, etc. Fortunately, there are always people who speak English around me. Confidence is very important. At the beginning it was not so easy to understand everyone and I had to deal with different accents. Now I can understand well. Some accents are difficult and I have to concentrate a little more, but in a general sense, it works. Thanks for everything.

Learning English is taken too lightly in my opinion, by international professionals and students alike! I just think the main problem with many new learners comes down to your frame of mind: why not just enjoy the process rather than focus on an every changing goal? I'm 1 month into a diet plan and when I first started I said to myself ''in two weeks, I'm going to lose 12 pounds and that will be that'', but now I'm a month in I've lost more than that and I'm just enjoying the process of improvement. I think improving your English language should be the same. Stop focusing on the 'end result'- just enjoy the process. Peter.

It is true that when i talk in english with native speakers, i always focus on the issue if the words i pick up offend him or her. However, i remember a friend who is native speaker told me, 'never apologize for your english weakness. it is becasue you are asian so of course when you talk with us, we are okay to accept your English with patient if needed' '

She´s uses the wrong question tags, doesn´t she? She could just use " right ?" and it would always be correct: speaking a new language can be really intimidating, RIGHT? That´s the tip of the day, kiddoes !
