Hi.my level in English is good but since I moved to UK to study physio ...I've lived there for 3 years.. I lost all my confidence in speaking in public in front of native speaker because I was embarrassed as I thought they could laugh at me...they never did but it was my feeling. the hardest part was not speaking, it was understanding the different accents...that was a shock because what we used to listen to at English classes or even movies was different from reality...each province in UK has different accent. I was really frustrated that time.

The second or third tip is correct and I think it's actually common that someone doesn't understand someone else completely sometimes, even if both are native english speakers. At a fast food restaurant it is noisy because of the machines so first the person orders, the other person (fast food worker) repeats the order, then the person says yes or yeah, that's right
