Hello Niharika, Why is it that "in a rowboat" and not "on a rowboat"? why is the preposition 'in' used when you are not inside of anything? Rowboat is an open vehicle. So could you explain me this? Thank you. :)

I watch ur video regularly and it helped me a lot but ur explanation of using 'in and on ' prepositions in this video is partially correct. we use 'IN' for closed vehicle and 'ON' for open vehicle.

For German native speakers I am confused on planes. I go inside a plane. So "in" would make more sense. You care on the train. Are you on the roof? In German general you have no sky above your head, you are in dem or im. Independent of your moving conditions.

+sandeep singh Truck/Lorry (both synonymous) can use either IN or ON depending on what part you are referring to, and it's more about what sounds right. In your case "I am ON the back of the truck" makes sense if it is a flatbed and you are physically standing upon it, "I am IN the back of the truck" if it is contained or you are in the cab. However, you can also put something or have something ON or IN a truck; "put it IN the truck" or "put it ON the truck" would mean stow it for transportation.
