🎤 To watch with subtitles, please click the 'CC' button on your KZbin video player :) Good evening! And welcome to this walk around one of the most wonderful villages in all of Yorkshire, the home of the Brontës: Haworth! There's so much to discover in Haworth, a village just as famous for its history as its beautiful appearance. We mentioned on our walk that Haworth, given its beauty, has starred in a number of films and TV shows, but one common misconception is that the village's steep Main Street appeared in the iconic 'Boy On The Bike' advert for Hovis bread. The advert, directed by none other than Blade Runner director Ridley Scott, was actually shot on Gold Hill, in the Dorset town of Shaftesbury, over 200 miles south of Haworth.

My ancestors lived in Haworth for dozens of generations and were there at the same time as the Brontës and when researching I found that the Reverend Patrick Brontë carried out many of my ancestors baptisms, marriages and burials and his signature appears on all their church documents .

Being disabled and no longer able to visit Haworth and ramble about as I used to in my younger years, this has been a delightful visit and I do thank you so so much. ❤

Very nostalgic watching this. A trip back into time. Can get a feel of what England looked like a 100 years ago.

Beautiful town and video. I'd just point out that the sisters hadn't "all moved away" from Haworth by the time their novels were being published, in fact they were all living back at the parsonage when their first novels were penned and published.

Many years ago i visited the Bronte Parsonage with my Nana and Grandpa and originally I hadn't wanted to have gone as I had wanted to have gone to the Ridings but went anyway and was glad I did!

🎶Heathcliff, it's me Cathy, I've come home now🎶 When I was young and in school 🏫 I remember we read Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë which is the book 📖 mentioned in this video and back then I used to think Kate Bush had a really strange and unusual singing voice when she sang her song based on Emily's novel 📖 and I actually didn't like her voice LOL! 😂😂😂😂 Now that I'm a middle aged man I actually own three of Kate's albums 💿💿💿 and I cant get enough of her music🎵 🎶! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I live in Thornton Bradford quite close to where the Bronte sisters were born and have been to Haworth many times as only 20 min drive over the tops, also took a trip on the steam train many years ago. Your walk was a nice reminder cheers 😁👍

Great little walk around main street but may I just ask what happened to the dog at around 9:15 . The poor thing looks like it's been hit by a car 😢

The pubs don’t usually mind us using their loos x x x
@markharris12232 жыл бұрын
It is well worth a visit, but I hope the public loos have been improved since I took my German parents-in-law to Haworth some years ago. God knows what the many Japanese visitors must have thought. So many of our tourist attractions in this country are let down by neglectful local authorities.

Mrs H 🇬🇧 .. I visited Howarth & stayed over night about 10 yrs ago....You could see by the small, Child like gloves how much the Bronte sisters struggled...Healthy food wasn't around back then, For folks to understand it was a totally different era & Bramwell they only brother must have felt like a lost failure...All died fairly young...Bramwell at 33yrs old who obviously suffed & felt totally inferior to his sisters...Bramwell died feeling an inferior dude ( like millions need support) Bramwell was a totally lost, Hurt man ..Geez he may not perfect but this happened over a 100 yrs plus later.. We we're buying liquid Dads

God judges the heart, isn’t rude but is in fact LOVE ❤️ GOD will have our world stunningly beautiful once again when Christ returns to undo all the evil that has been done, and to bring justice ✝️🌈🕊️ The road to hell is wide and many choose that way, but the way to life is narrow and only a few find it. Tell me my friend, what is the fastest growing religion in this world 🤔
