I was studying a film degree in 2003 when I saw this in the cinema. Was such a revelation of a film. I agree with what they say about it capturing a moment in time that made you want to head out and explore what the world had to offer.

This is my favorite film. It's always hard for me to explain people the reason why cause it's so personal to me. So imagine how happy I am to see Gael's describing the same specific feeling that I feel every single time I watch the movie (wich it's the reason it's my fav).

This is perfection. Everything they said, the way Diego added something else, i have no words, they took it all.

Everything is too capitalized, too usufructuary- yeah. This is a great follow up to his criterion closet moment about the lack of horny cinema.

I mean he could have just said derivative and saved me the bother of googling usufructuary.

The film Gael mentions at 1:15, Ettore Scola’s “We All Loved Each Other So Much”, is one of the best films I’ve ever seen along with Y Tu Mama Tambien. I would definitely recommend it to those who haven’t seen it
@thevoid993 ай бұрын
i first saw "y tu mama tambien" in 2003 when it appeared on IFC (when it showed films uncut and commercial free) as that was life-changing. i had an old copy of the DVD from its initial release (uncut) and then the criterion dvd (which will be upgraded to blu-ray or hopefully 4K soon). it's still one of my favorite films ever. i may prefer guillermo del toro as my favorite mexican filmmaker but alfonso cuaron comes at a close second followed by carlos reygadas and alejandro gonzalez inarritu.
