Well, is it possible to do a video with some pieces of advice for the left-handed calligraphers? It never bothered me that much, but since I started to improve and work more on the details, THOSE DETAILS make such a difference :) BTW, great video, very professional, easy to watch and learn from. 😎😎

@@klimegrafia5379 Thank you so much, Paulina! I really appreciate the kind words as well as the suggestion! I've been asked on multiple occasions to create some resources for left-handed calligraphers. The reason I never made any is because I'm not left-handed, and I feel I couldn't really contribute much to this topic. I will try to do some research on the topic and compile a list of helpful tips. Or perhaps even collaborate with a left-handed calligrapher to shed some light on this topic. 😄🙏

One of the goals for this year for me is to get better in calligraphy, and your product(site) helped alot. I have few questions if u don mind 1. What is the "best" practice daily routine would you recomend? i have like 1 hour that i want to spend on geting better, maybe in some days more/some days less. but i want to get sure that i'm not just mumbling around but actually improving. Would be awesome to hear some tips on that. 2. I havent seen any payed content on your site... Is there any, or do you have any plands on making it? Calligraphy is a niche thing, and your lessons have some pretty neat advises, that regulary i saw in payed courses. Ofc i like that, but you have any source of monetesation, so people coudl say thank you.

Hey, thanks for the nice comment. Here is my answer to your questions - 1. The key to learning calligraphy is to implement a system that favors consistency over intensity. What i mean by that is that it's better to practice 15-20 minutes every single day rather than 1-2 hours 2-3 times a week. You will notice much more progress like this. The other important thing to consider is to move gradually from easier to more complex elements. So if you're just starting out doing complex compositions and flourishing isn't really the way to practice. The beginning isn't very glamourous. It's a lot of drills of basics strokes (explained in the video) and regularly working on "final" artwords (things you would be ready to present in a portfolio). This way you can put all the drilling into practice to create something that is in the best of your abilities. By doing this you're raising the bar and pushing your skill to improve. The beginining, as i said, is kinda boring, and most people skip it and try to do all these complex and cool things without having a strong understanding of the fundamentals. Avoid doing this common mistake and you'll already be ahead of most people trying to learn calligraphy. 2. Most of my content is free. I monetize my content through ads and affiliate marketing (recommending products and services). I have also some procreate brushes that im selling, but so far i was mostly focused on sharing my knowledge and experiences with free articles and videos. I do have plans of creating in depth workbooks and video courses becuase there are a lot of nuances that need to be explained in longer forms of content. However, if you wish to drop a donation I do have a Ko-Fi page that i never find the time to share :D - ko-fi.com/letteringdaily If you choose to buy me a coffee i'll be super happy and grateful :) Hope my comment above was helpfuil. Dont hesitate to ask more questions. Happy to help!

Best tutorial I’ve seen in a while Thank you so much for sharing and including the worksheets 🙏🏻 At the moment what I struggle with most with is fitting in the time to practice. How long would you say a beginner should practice a day? 30mins/1hour? Also should a beginner always start off with the alphabet?
@letteringdaily
@letteringdaily 3 жыл бұрын
Ayee! Thank you so much :) I know what you mean. I would say that the more you practice the better. However, it's not about the intensity of each session but rather the consistency. That's why I'm always more for consistency over intensity. I believe that you will see more progress by practicing consistently on a daily basis (even if it's just 20 minutes a day) rather than three times a week for an hour. I really like this video that talks more in-depth about consistent (and proper) practice and the development of muscle memory. Check it out here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGOyZ6CHoKucn9k As for the other question, if you are just starting out - start with the very basic strokes. First the up thin down thick, then the basic strokes, and then the full alphabet. Lay down the foundation and then move gradually to more challenging and complex elements. I didn't do that, and I believe it held me behind. I've started noticing real progress when I stopped trying to skip the essential steps which often seem boring. Let me know if you have any other questions, always happy to help!

im amazed. it took me half an hour to letter the way you practise matters the way you did in 10 seconds. i dont think untalented and uncreative people can progress even through hard work. by the way i dont know if the word uncreative exists in english. it's my foreign language. thanks
