Never buy hotels. Put 4 houses on all your properties because once the bank runs out of houses no more can be bought until someone converts from 4 houses to a hotel and turns in the houses. This can freeze out other players.

@@ODiddy67 I did this tactic on my family and pissed them off SO much. I got lucky and picked up all the red properties after Jail, and a couple light blue before the jail. On my next turn I traded another player, Park Place, and two yellow properties for Baltic, Mediterranean, the remaining light blue one. Instantly plopped down 32 houses and nickel and dimed them for the next hour. It is the ONE great thing about those Purple properties, their houses are dirt cheap.

Bruh, I always come after purple first thing. Super cheap to upgrade to hotels and mfers have to pass GO so they have at least 200 to give you when they land on your property. Goddamn, Monopoly is kinda awful yeah?

To be fair ( to be fair, to be fair, to be fair...) , waiting until it's your turn to initiate a trade is NOT in the official rules of Monopoly. Accepted practice, and nearly 100% of the tournament rules (and yes, I've played and refereed tournaments), specify that trading can be done during a player's turn or IN BETWEEN other player's turns, but not during an opposing player's turn. So if Player A has finished their turn but Player B hasn't rolled the dice yet, Player C can try to do a trade with any of the other players; only Player B can initiate a trade (with any other player) after they have rolled the dice but before they've completed their turn. The limit on trading is one of the unfortunate "house rules" that everyone thinks is official, like getting money when landing on FREE Parking or getting $400 for landing on GO. Monopoly is a beautiful game if you play it BY THE ACTUAL RULES!!! (Even better if you use the rules prior to 2006, before Hasbro totally f**ked up the game). == Professor Monopoly

@@alexsmith2885 Want it to go faster? Free Parking does NOTHING in the rules. If anyone puts money in the center of the board for fines, slap them for not knowing how to play. The game ends when you run out of money, adding more to the game only drags it out. Also, if someone doesn't want to buy a property they land on, it goes to AUCTION.

@@alexsmith2885 Oh, you certainly should make deals. The only ones that are banned in the games are allowing someone to "pay later" if they don't have the funds at the moment. Just pointing out that most of the bad opinions about Monopoly arise from people not wanting to play it correctly.

Look rule 1 in monopoly, never buy the railroads. It's like buying a ymca in Beverly Hills. I'll put a hotel in the hood on Baltic AVE and make more than the 4 railroads combined.
