Well , keeping cows saves on gym membership to keep fit 😂 , also with that combination of gates i would end up shutting myself in let alone the cow's lol. Have a great Easter weekend Farm P & family.

@@FarmerP that was supposed to say benny hill!. I know copyright laws, huh. If it had the tune and was played at 2x speed it would have gone viral😀. I watch quite a few of the UK farming channels but I must say, yours is the most entertaining by far, you don't f**K about you do what you do, and if I may say, you do it well. And trying to teach pink how to drive the mustang, most men would have last their rag, but you did it correctly, you had patience, was firm about what to do, but made it fun, if you pushed too hard when she was struggling she would have given up in a strop, but you did well, and she's picked it up a treat. I have 2 daughters and they can be testing, but you, like me, have realised the best way to deal with it. And your daughters (just from what I've seen) are a credit to you.

Suckled calves are always bastards to deal with we have the odd one in with hand reared ones they would follow me to the moon but the suckled ones never . I think I would have left him there till he was hungry or until mum was looking for him

when i letting cows and calves out of the yard i try to have them bunched up and i am behind them and drive them out so that the calves donot become seperated ....does not always work and can end up with a job just like u got today ......i have a small paddock thats the first place they go so if u have to get them back in to rejoin the calf or calves that are left behind its not too big of a job ......bucket reared calves are so much more civilised ..........you would rear a lot in those fine sheds

George Doorley Everything you say is correct George, we could have done it better, in my defence though it’s never gone this bad in twenty years. In hindsight, I should have had my mind on the real job in hand rather than trying to be clever recording it.

I know it looks a bit complicated, but I designed a system that gave me the ability to move or separate animals on my own. All my girls work full time, in fact Abbi regularly pulls a twelve hour day at this time of year, so it’s usually muggins on his own, this system of gates enables me to handle stuff gently and calmly.... “usually” This young calf was having nothing to do with calm or gentle today.
