The grin on your face watching your kids run equipment is priceless Tony. They will remember that stuff forever. I know I sure do. Hell my old man hasn’t even climbed into the combine all summer or fall now. He enjoys shelling corn so I’m sure he’ll climb in here eventually. It’s funny how time flies. I can remember being a little kid sitting on his lap getting you run the steering wheel in the 4400. Then to him sliding over in the seat and letting me run the controls. Now I can’t get him to climb up in it and I set the whole damn thing. Been kinda grinning thinking about the memories typing this out. Good times

It doesn't hurt to have the kids learn how to run the equipment. I was about 12 when I started helping my uncle drive his Allis Chalmers in wheat, this was about 1968 and no cab but he did have an umbrella that helped some. Good video.

You mentioned the beans being dirtier than normal, I think here in Indiana they were less *fuzzy* than usual. They had some but normally the combine gets a layer 6 to 8 inches deep on the throat, not so this year. Sure, it was a bit windier than normal at times, but when it was calm, there just wasn't the buildup like most years. Varieties didn't seem to matter, I wonder if the extreme dryness this year was a factor.
