Thanks for the great video, Gary! I've used Leuchtterm 1917 A-5s for several years, but I haven't seen the copper one here in Nova Scotia yet. I will definitely be on the look-out since its almost time for me to get a new one.

I used one of their notebooks and the bleed through was very noticeable. I know that they are using heavier paper but I have been hesitant to use another one. Very good review, Garry.

I have noticed a bit of bleeding over the past couple of days, but not enough to stop me from using both sides of the page. The 120gsm version does perform a lot better in terms of bleeding.

today I learned that there is a group of people who enjoy notebooks and fountain pens as a hobby. Hey .. I'm not judging... I'm typing on a way too expensive keyboard because I was really into keyboards (still am)

Fountain pens can be a very expensive hobby too 😭

I haven’t tried this brand yet. I really like the copper color. Thanks for the review.

I quite like these pads, but I do prefer the 120gsm paper, although this 80gsm is still very nice.

These are well constructed and well designed notebooks. I prefer others (perhaps not as good on these grounds) because I not a fan of the paper. I like the Endless notebooks, and the various Tomoe River notebooks made by Jet Pens. Hobonichi's are nice, but expensive.

I do like these for my daily journal. It was quite timely when I was gifted this one, as I needed a new journal to start today.

I noticed that the page you were writing on does not fold backl all the way to the spine. It is about 12.5 mm to were it is glued down. Is it like that way through out the journal?

I use Leuchtturms all the time. That only happens on the front and back pages that are glued to the heavy endsheets. All the pages throughout the book lie down very well in thread-sewn signatures

It only happens at the front and back. The rest of the book seems fine. I do my test on the back page to try and reduce the impact on what I'll be using the book for.

I haven't used any Leuchtturm notebooks before because (at least in the US) they seem quite overpriced. My go-to is Midori MD as I can use both sides of the page with most of my inks. There is some light ghosting, but no bleed through with normal writing. The only problem I've run into with that paper is it seems to abhor my newest ink. My wife bought me Troublemaker Sea Glass for Christmas, and that ink will not stick to the MD paper. It seems to come out very very dry. It writes great on cheap notebook paper, but shows none of the shading properties the ink is supposed to be good for. I'm not sure if it's the ink or paper because I've tried it with F, M, and 1.1 stub nibs with mediocre results. Maybe I'll give Leuchtturm a try after my current notebook is filled.
