It’s been forever since I’ve last uploaded a video but today I felt like chatting with you guys about what I’ve been up to lately language learning-wise. In this video I talk a bit about my experience using Anki (a spaced repetition program) to learn Chinese characters and my failed attempt at learning Japanese.
As always, I would be more than happy to receive corrections/suggestions from native speakers.
I really hope I can start uploading more consistently but... we'll see what happens🤣

Okay look. It's hard for me to believe that you don't speak Arabic as a first language or you have Arabic or Isreali origins otherwise you have really really really worked hard to reach to this level because this fluency requires many years. You give me the feeling that you are a CIA agent by your fluency 😂😂 great job👏👏👏 greetings from Egypt.

I'm learning spanish, any advice could you give to accelerate learning the language besides flashcards?? Thank you :D
@thelanguagelife7962
@thelanguagelife7962 4 жыл бұрын
Just the usual advice. Exposing yourself to the language as much as possible by reading and listening to content of interest to you in your target language (it has to be content that isn't too hard for your level but still challenges you somewhat; also, look up the shadowing technique), practicing speaking by finding language partners or using a tutor for lessons. You can try translating texts from your native language into Spanish, keeping a journal in Spanish, changing your phone and social media to Spanish, talking to yourself in Spanish, etc. You have to figure out what works for you and what keeps you motivated to keep learning the language. Good luck! :)

I am learning Levantine Arabic and I have many of your videos in playlists so I can watch them over and over. They are extremely helpful for verb conjugation and vocab. I really like it when you use the phonetic script (like the Elijay series) and the Arabic script as well. Anyway, excellent work and it is much appreciated. Also learning Mandarin and French. I already speak Spanish and Engish is my native language.

Hey, im learning Japanese :) and it goes quiet well, but i also have to memorize a lot of Characters, but have you heard of the Heisig-Method , it‘s really useful for learning Characters. By the way, i am still learning arabic, but could you maybe make a video on your language learning strategies for arabic? That would be so helpful. Especially for a dialect is there any good translator etc. and how did you become so fluent? I‘m really happy that you are back!! Greetings from Germany

Nice to see you ;) I'm also into Mandarin Chinese, but using Skritter as SRS system (which teach how to write the characters, it's pretty incredible), I've managed to learn the HSK 5 vocabulary from scratch in about 1.5 year but I'm going to take a pause in order to "digest" it and ease the burden of the daily reviews. (PS: In order to be able to read newspaper it's more about 3000 characters than 2000). When I get some spare time I also try to improve my Arabic by watching Netflix TV shows with transliteration + translation at the same time (chrome extension) + reading Aljazeera. For the others 3 learned language I "mastered" it's pretty passive learning these days (newspaper/netflix). Keep on learning!
