Hey cryingman, as the person whose first power 11 brawler was gene, I can say that the best gears for gene are speed and damage. A power 11 gene with damage and spirit slap can deal more than 6000 damage, enough to defeat most of the brawlers in the span of 1 second. Most mids have less than 4000 hp, which means gene can sneak up to them with the help of speed gear and 2 shot them. Also, vengeful spirits is pretty underrated cuz mids usually fight at a range, which means that u will be dealing the full 1000 damage to them, which is useful for finishing off kills after chipping them down with gene's diverging attack. Gene has the potential to deal 3x1000=a whopping 3000 damage in 3v3 modes, esp. in bounty with the click of a green button. And don't forget, this gadget is almost impossible to dodge. Since the nerf of the healing of the other gadget, vengeful spirits has become my preferred build except in certain circumstances in bb, where it is useful for goal saving

I was able to deal 2300 damage without cubes with gene. Just use spirit slap, get super, get colonel ruff power up and bam u can deal more damage than piper :D
