New to the game and just completed the Warlords of New York DLC, where do I go from here?
The choices and questions seem overwhelming when you start the journey of playing Division 2. Do you level up your watch, start working on weapon proficiency and expertise, start grinding for gear or start farming for blueprints? What the heck is expertise? What do you mean by a build? How do I get blueprints?
In this series, I'll take you through some of the goals you should set and explain the process and some of the game mechanics involved.

As a returning player this really hit the goals home, thank you for the explanation and how you worded it about making it goal oriented rather than a mission directive to be completed in one week. This game does take a bit of a grind but with some good buds and awesome gaming music it really makes it great to come back.

Excellent overall advice. As a new player before Expertise was in game, I was advised to complete the Recal Lib. first and sell the leftovers. After this was mostly complete, I started alternating selling with salvaging the gear. I normally don't salvage greens as they are worth a bit more to sell. Very good tips in this video!

Soloed the campaign and dlc love this game as a working dad with not a lot of play time I always have fun with this one and that’s hard for me these days with all the repetitive fps games with no one actually trying to put out a decent game. They keep me intrigued and you my friend did a great job with this video love the tone and approach you took and I AM REEADY for my end game adventures hats off to you agent!

As a returning player (only played on release for about a week) this was a great guide. Thank you! I went for a Hunter's Fury build for my 1st build but I think I'll try your suggested skill one too, until I get high crit mods to make the hunter actually hit like a truck.

Hunters is good if you like to play close. If you want to play back a bit, Strikers is the way to go. 4-piece strikers, one piece Ceska and either Coyotes Mask if you have it or a piece of Grupo. Go for all crit; build to 50-60% crit chance then max crit damage. Gunner class for the armor on kill and other buffs.

Just hit lvl 40 so this was ideal. Up to now I never understood what benefits a skill builds had so this was a very handy explanation. Going straight on to your builds vid next.

That’s a fair point. Some but not all of these topics apply to the game in general, but a few of them are locked behind the Warlords of New York (WONY) DLC. The recalibration and the recalibration Library are available as soon as you unlock the Recalibration station and I think Expertise is unlocked at the same point. Optimization and a lot of the high end Gear and Brand sets are not available until level 40. Use a video like this to learn the game fundamentals and mechanics and enjoy the content as you progress.

@@AgentMeat I didn't want to take on warlords yet. My agent would get a sound beating. I've been playing breakpoint so used to stealth kills and single head shots. This games a different beast. I was surprised you couldn't do that. Tried a stealth kill and got blasted😡

I’ve been playing for about 1 week, really enjoying it. Just completed the expansion and it’s very overwhelming I had no idea what to do or where to go but this video has helped a lot! how do i play the division 2 correctly when i play the whole game and not start with dlc? ive been playing for a week just hit level 30 and have to figth the last 3 strongholds, i know the whole place will be run over again by the new enemys black tusks after and i have to take over the whole thing again but do i go to new york before i start that? or do i clear the whole thing and sfter that go to newyork

There is no right or wrong way to play the game. The way I did it was to get to gear score 500 and clear all of the base game side missions before going to New York. There are gear score gates for each of the strongholds that will require you to play some of the open world activities before you have gear at a high enough level to take on the stronghold. Control Points, Propaganda Broadcasts, Public Executions etc. don’t worry too much about the build at this point, keep equipping higher level gear. Once Tidal Basin (the last stronghold) was cleared, then I moved on to the DLC. Of course, this isn’t required, I just wanted to see all of the content. The other benefit is you are learning the basic game mechanics and improving your game skills as you incrementally increase the game difficulty.

That’s a really good question with a huge number of possible answers. What I do at that point is start putting together the builds/loadouts I’m going to want to play. I want to have a solid all red Strikers DPS build, a skill build, a tank build, a PFE build for Countdown, a healer etc.

So, defeat the 4 mini bosses and reach level 40. Then you can take on Keener at Liberty Island. You will also need to do the side Mission “Castle Clinton” The way I normally do it is Parnell, Police HQ, Connolly, Hugh Carry Tunnel, Castle Clinton, Kajika, Dragov, Pier 26 then open work activities if required to reach level 40. Then go to Liberty Island and take down Keener.

No more gear score but you can now optimize a piece to perfection. I prefer being able to make any piece perfect rather than the endless farming for an almost perfect piece that where you can recalibrate one attribute. But that’s my preference.

It scales to close to you. Your friend will do damage equivalent to a much higher level and gain XP at a higher rate.
