Oh hell, the year my daughter was born 1983, the early L42 music was absolutely great, no flashy expensive videos and the sound of Mark's JD through Trace Elliot amplification IS the sound of the 80's. Great to see this video !

@@JBass42 I actually don't think it's that strange, we've all invested our emotions in this great band, they've been part of the fabric of our day to day existence, and these songs are literally the soundtrack to our lives. We care about those who enrich & fulfill, and personally ( as I'm sure it's this way for many other fans) their music has been with me through the great times, but also very tragic times & its been a support & comfort & often something to keep me hanging on in life. I feel your sadness ✌

Oooft, what a find! Vintage L42. Thanks so much for this, takes me right back to my childhood. I got into L42 quite late, in 1985, but then delved into their earlier stuff and found my favourite band of all time. So underrated as musicians, victims of the crassness and excess of 1980s Britain. Not one single bass related page on Instagram mentions them and MK barely gets a nod either. Bizarre. Your Snarky Puppy and Vulfpeck etc would not be here today if it were not for L42. Respect due!

Absolutely beautiful music and images . I would love to wear a red cloak like that and float about on a beach. Looks as if this vid may have been shot on the Isle of Wight. Boon looks like a Knight of the Round Table here. What a wonderful guitarist and songwriter. He co-wrote many of the band’s hits, with his own style, creating unique funky signature guitar grooves and riffs along with his brother Phil on drums & percussion. Although gone way too soon, it seems he had this ability to be simultaneously cred and commercial. So playing electric guitar is one of my resolutions this year! 🎸🦋
