It’s a great technique. I use it when I sing. The gum keeps your throat moist.

@@B1GK1NG Really? That’s awesome I didn’t know that. I have experienced dry throat that makes me want to constantly clear it when singing. I wondered why I’ve always seen Mark chewing gum…thought it was just a habit, didn’t know it actually served a purpose.

That was literally my first thought- I was watching the recording of this from Wembley in 86 so I clicked on this thinking that it would be okay and interesting to see how they sounded now and what you usually expect is some fade and a little less energy and the second they started the song I said to myself holy f****** s***

@American Hero thing is, mark king was the one who created all of these bass lines. I believe there is no "absolute bassist" out there, but even your friends played these bass lines, could they create them? I find Mark King to be an awesome bass player, and really good singer 🙏🤟

Oh, my nostalgia! I've loved this song for so long. I was only 10 years old when it was released; I heard it one day on my momma's kitchen radio, and I was hooked. We didn't have much money, certainly not enough for me to afford to buy the album, so I would wait ever so patiently by the radio day after day until I was able to record it onto a cassette tape. Thanks for the great music

My God, how can they be better now, after all this time?!? This song made me feel ecstatic and melancholic all at once back in the 80's. The song, and Level 42 still rock after all these years, but sadly the melancholy is what I feel most now--the grief for what is gone and will never come again...
