Kerning PQ(with king slime boss)....Ludi PQ(Alishar)....Orbis pq(Papa Pixie)...Magatia PQ(franken wtv his name)...the 4 original fun PQ......later on there was Monster Carnival(liked its arrival and playtrough)......and Lionheart Castle PQ(as a pro jumper player it was quick clear for me and great exp....alway get to to the top first try never falling once XD)...ofc i had to promote my skills for ppl to join otherwise ppl were like "nope screw that PQ"..............oh almost forgot....good old GPQ(Guild PQ) with Ergoth to farm skill cap books....my favorite place of them all....get to spend time with guild...lots of fun jump quest(at least fun for me XD)....split group work and team work.....and a boss with a nice soundtrack good old days....saddening to see today state of the game...and my honest though ? all skill books should go back to being tie to Ergoth GPQ....except Maple Hero which was tie to Horntail

Hot take: Leveling was awful pre Big Bang, but being social was a lot more fun And now it's vice versa now; leveling is a low more expedient and thanks to that, enjoyable since this game has become more about the endgame than anything, but due to that, being social is almost non-existent unless you have a guild or an already established clique of friends.

I dislike when a game rushes over the beginning and middle sections of the game. Levelling should not go as slow as it did in the old days. But levelling fast means you just need to invest lots of time and effort to reach the core of the game. This way, they have left out the sweet middle pieces of the game, such as party questing. I loved Maplestory. But do not play it, I quited in 2009. Nowadays I play Genshin Impact. (Europe) Why not join me there fellow Maplers?

This MS looks like playing with hacks. I remember training a cleric to level 60 in ludibrium towers and then with the ghost monsters down there and it was hard as hell. Weeks to increase a few levels killing the same monsters. Eventually I gave up with that character. Then at BB I fastly leveled up a Kaiser beyond level 100, very different gamestyle, I was happy seeing what was beyond the level 70 barrier, but weeks passed and I left the game, there was no meaning anymore. Now you're doing multiple millions of damage in just a few hours with almost any character. Pretty sad the evolution of the game IMO. I miss the good old days were we really felt the evolution of the character.

I remember doing back-to-back 8 hour grinds at galloperas with HS mule, 2x exp hot time event, 2x exp useable item (also from event) , 2x exp 8 hour cash shop and 1.5x exp family buff and I'd be excited to get a few levels. I'd always considered going back to GMS, I still have a 25 w.atk raccoon mask and tons of other godly items from early big bang... but I think most of those would be irrelevant now because of power creep. Every time I see gameplay, it looks so foreign now.

@@Dnite13 simple question.....is Maple still a "reach hp threshold///dps checkmark" only ? or does it now involve you to actively use a key to avoid getting 1 shotted(3 frame invincibility(1/4 of a second)) ?.....if its the former its still just a faceroll game.........but if your actively using invincibility frames to not die then now thats a challenge......for a semi-challenge it would be "move out of a spot within 3 second or die...i highly doubth it has any raid mechanics like World of Warcraft where it require ALL member to perform correctly or wipe if 1 person fail

The leveling is way to fast now and there is no need for party play beacuse of that. As a day one mapler i would love to see it be slower to level again but not to slow just enough to have a good week of party questing and meeting new friends. I dislike that game creators are making games ez for everyone and stateing they want to respect everyones time... Witch they dont need to. If you like the game a want to play casual you can. And if you want to put time in you can and it pays off. Anyway i have gotten out of gaming alot but still come back to maple every now and then to see if that old spark of staying up 18hrs a day to get a few levels so i can equip new gear is their but it never sparks.

While I agree with most people that socializing and party content was great back in the day, in my opinion grinding 3 hours to get from level 110 to 120 was no achievement it was damn boring, I love the current Maplestory and even with all the nostalgia inducing old content I would never go back

I remember the times before cash shop was even a thing and we had no 3rd job for the 8 first months of the game. If i remember correctly 3rd job was released in December 2005. The first year of maplestory was a magical time. I still main my OG scania warrior with Mark of the Beta :D

simple.....dont create broken dmg 1 shotting everything.....that leave no challenge.......OG papa Pixie(at least on Maplesea) did 1700 dmg on touch while everyone hp was at like 1100....i played global later but his dmg on global was down to like 800(both time were pre-big bang)....i left sea after my acc was hacked on there and moved to global.......on Sea it was like recruit a DK or get wreck XD.......well i apologize if numbers are maybe off by a hundred or so but like...its been 10 years about since i last played Maple

Personally I don't see the point anymore. When you make it so that leveling is a single day process it cheapens it. Sure the old days were hard to level, but at least there was satisfaction. People would team up in parties and socialize. It felt meaningful and more then just leveling. And when you reach a point where you could explore further into the game, it was really cool and a driving force. It just seems so meaningless now. It's no wonder so many people left the game.

I always saw people say how Maple was "way better pre-BB", but remembering how much grinding it took to progress (among other things), I'd always just look at them like they were insane. Like, I remember 10% exp per hour being considered "good" grinding... that meant 10 hours to level up once. That's... so tedious. If it takes that same amount of time to make it to lv 200 and beyond? That's significantly better!

You can still find those kind of 10% exp per hour rates, but you have to go to 260 or higher to consider that 'good'. Currently the time needed to reach max level (300) is estimated in years so the grind is still there if you want.

Grinding is still grinding so it's going to be tedious either way imo. In my pre-bb experience, levelling took forever, but it was a non-issue. Plus I made a ton of friends by chatting/adding friendly players at popular grinding spots since we'd see each other so often. Worked out great for peak times when you had to share spots or they'd just let you take over theirs. Plus you'd find people doing random things all over (I was one of them). Now I come back to GMS every year or so to check out the changes and sure it feels great to blaze through levels, but it's been an entirely solo experience for me each time, which isn't as fun. Maybe I'm playing the game wrong or haven't gotten far enough? I just know that the game no longer has some of my favourite social aspects/features that helped relieve the monotony from levelling, and that I haven't found an alternative in the current game.

2x exp buffs, totems from the cash shop reward points section (increase spawn and mobs so more kills per hour), monster park potions and high legion and a lot of links skills help a ton. Those last two are not possible if it's your first character. Your first character will be the hardest for sure, that's just the way it is.

If it's ur first char u won't lvl fast. U need all the good link skills which also helps u get a good legion for some more power. 2xexp, knowing where to train at and some mesos to get ur lvl 140 gear to 10stars and some cubes.

the prequests were a walk in the park for me XD(though papulatus was a bit long if i remember right...collect this that, travel everywhere around the world to get the stuff done).....i still got my zakum maps for the mine part(use to duo it with a friend to sell ton of scrolls for 400k each while expending no effort cleaning it up...probably a thousand of these were sold XD......no clue why ppl were willing to spend that much back in the day just to skip like a 8 mins walk approx to halfway trough Zakum).....wtv...ez money it was lol......the zakum jump quest i simply sped ran it XD...3 mins clear everytime XD.....too bad that it had a cap of 5 clear a day(15 mins of my time)....could of sold ton of JQ orb on the market XD.....other ppl price on market.....1 million....me laughing at ppl back then....sell for a mere 200k each XD

I have about 3k legion play on regular server. All the good links at least lvl 2 some lvl3. But using event 2x exp cash shop and event. Along with monster park and totems. I’m not getting these kind of rates. Where am I going wrong? Wrong maps?

They'd be called maple millennials, and it wasn't about how long the grind was, it was the type of grind. If I feel like and have the abilities of a god within hours of playing what incentive is there to go further? to change that million into a billion damage? there's no sense of long term character progression when I'd just be doing the same Nuke Button option from the word go instead of working towards that Nuke Button. It's a classic case of Less = More or More =/= Better.

I feel like it's about time for a Maplestory 2. And I don't mean like that 3D Maplestory 2 we got (and lost). I mean a proper 2D side scroller. The current game is honestly a mess. It's a fun game for sure that I sometimes go back and play, but man, the world is so big, and things are just jumbled all over the place you never really know where to go or how to unlock certain things. And the UI elements on the left side with all the quests is overwhelming. I honestly don't even know where to start when it comes to this tangled mess. 30 in 8 hours was the fastest you could get it pretty much. With a full party at lvl 22 you could get 30 faster with kerning PQ. But then you need 4 people with experience and that time to put down, not that easy.

i stick to pre big-bang era thank you + couple change to scrolls so they ain't a "pay 300,000$" to get good rolls.....though i would bring a few classes(not the copy pasta from old classes) in and adjust their dmg to fit old days dmg standards.....Pirates....Demon Slayer....Aran.....Kanna are worth staying....unfortunetly not familiar to all the new classes.... but copy pasta crap like "Mercedes, Wild Hunter, the Cygnus bowman crap" those i would kick them all out...just an example of these copy pasta classes...if i remember correctly they only had 1 skill truly unique to them while the rest is all copied

@@iv4nx3 not asking it to be 100% the same....there some quality of life changes needed(if you saw my full post)...especially rng with scrolls.....i have so many system in mind which i think may please old returning veteran.....like "block exp gain to get 2X the amount of exp later(equal to how long you had your exp blocked)...this 2X boost cant be active simultaneously with other exp boost items....that system is to let ppl extand time doing content they like to lvl......and the 2X let them speed up trough content they dislike....the setting cant be toggle on-off every 10 sec to abuse a burst of exp....the player choose for how long they want the 2X to be active and once its active it last for how long the player chose to have it active....like if a player accumulated 6 hours of exp blocked...and they choose to have it active for 2 hours....the timer for 2X boost launch and then 4 hours of blocked exp can be initiated for later.....they can only launch the 2X for specific timers(30-300 minutes)....they cant choose lower than 30 to prevent abuse of only activating it during a burst exp moment....if the player block exp during a 2X exp event they instead fill a bar that give them 4X exp later........additionnal prevention abuse....if the exp is blocked and the player afk for 5 mins.....the exp get unblock and stop adding to the bar for 2x//4x....when the player come back from being afk the exp setting auto set back to being blocked if thats what they had it set on b4 afking.........if that explain that 1 idea :)

how can anyone get any fulfillment today from this game?... it so pointless. before leveling actually had meaning and felt like an accomplishment. its very sad how this game got ruined after the bigbang. it was my favorite game.

i can't believe there's people want old leveling system back, no seriously no, it was awful back then, only thing was good was the community you worked together to level that's what people want back, not the slow grind leveling

The slow leveling is a big part of what made the community. Party play and hanging out happened at ALL levels because it was slow, and even if you didn't party up much, with how long you were going to spend on various maps, it was inevitable that you'd meet the same people occasionally. It also made you really care about each individual level.

To be fair, you did a pretty poor comparision because in the old version u didnt use any kind of exp boost, while in video this where u compare new vs old version u use almost all exp boost there is in the New version 🤔 you should reupload and do 8 hours with NO exp boost or dmg boosts🤗😌

The video is fine. Current era Ms everyone uses exp buffs. Old ms I don't think we had 2x exp cards for awhile EDIT : I guess the old video was being played during a time where exp cards were around

@@KensBlade Exp boosts are all the meta now while non cash exp cards were super rare or didn't even exist back then. That's like saying that I am not training in the same maps as 11 years ago so it isn't a fair comparison.
