One of my go-to pets is the Direbeak Hatchling. All the falcosaurs are good, but Direbeak was my first and I got attached to it. Black Claw and Falcoswarm is a devastating combo. And Stoneskin mitigates a lot of damage. They require some effort. Check Wowhead for details, but the hatchlings are very useful.

Yeah, Direbeak and Snowfeather are the two most useful hatchlings, Falcosawm, Predatory Strike and Crouch/Ironskin make quick work of hard fights like Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon

Emerald Proto-Whelp is a must have in my oppinion. He is fantastic while trying to catch some rare pets and leveling others in the process. At level 20 (bread P/S) he can pretty much solo 3 level 25 wild pets and come out of the fight at full health, so no downtime (waiting for heal) or bandages needed. He is a bid slow when played defencive but he is a bank in the fights.

I just started playing again after 6 years and its crazy to see Emerald PW is still as strong as ever. He was my carry pet back in the day and I recently did the Wailing Caverns pet battle event and that guy carried my entire roster by taking care of the backfield on every single fight. I still needed the right pets for the "bosses" but it was nice not having to worry about having enough for 15-20 trash pets.

A few BfA favorites I've found: Mechanical Lifelike Frostboar - Awesome against beast type, with both decoy and healing abilities that help against large attacks. Good all-around battle filler, too. Desert Spider - Brittle Webbing and Spiderling Swarm will absolutely crush critters. Use Leach Life when capturing pets for survivability. Mud Jumper - Super easy to farm for rares (I have 2 at level 25) and extremely effective against undead. Eldritch Manafiend - Absolutely obliterates flying pets

Dream Whelpling is also a nice Dragonkin pet. If you have decent enough gear you can solo EN and catch those guys at the end. Great defensive pet :).

Nice guide, but I would never advise anyone to waste their Polished Pet Charms on an ultimate leveling stone. They should be saved for buying pets. Once you have a couple of level 25 pets - especially flying - travel to Mistfall Village in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Pandaria. Behind the buildings are several groups of aquatic pets that go down easily to flyers. You can quickly bring a "carry pet" from level 4 or so to level 25 just by fighting these groups repeatedly. There are a number of other strategies for leveling pets quickly, but I found this one the easiest.

Good tip. I'm just getting started and this is where I've been working on leveling some pets. It doesn't take them that long, and as an added bonus, with the help of a trial char mage and two-seat flying mount, I'm also leveling characters with pet battles at a good rate too.

i love muar. muar, infinite whelpling, and sister of temptation. the whelpling has an ability that deals double damage when your health is lower than your opponent. i always hated howyou take an extra hit when you swap pet. now i start with sis of tempt, cast that ability that deals damage after 4 rounds, swap to whelp, cast double damage, heal to 100% and cast one more attack that to trigger sis' bomb and anything is dead at this point. muar is just backup with the ability to equalize health.

They dont. They stay at lvl 25. Your level 1 team will get one shot currently wiped 4 times on a wq 4 days later. GG fun detected.

The battles against the other master tamers do scale down, but if you have, say, a 8 8 and a lvl25, their pets will ALL be 25. You have to have an entire team of lvl1s. But the quests where you battle just a single enemy (like the dinosaur or krawg) are lvl25, so back to grinding I go lol

Or Unborn Val’kyr + Foulfeather as an optional combo if one does not have Ikky. All most all the legendary pet battles in Mech and Naz I do with Val’kyr + Foulfeather + Twilight Clutch-Sister. That team does a really good job.

I personaly use 3 zandalari pets with max attack to do most bfa world quests. Only one where i have to swap is nazmir daily where npc uses 2 fast beasts and undead raptor. Black claw and just spam rush and leap if needed to finish pets

nice guide, but if you have mothing but lvl 1s, your stuck doing it the slow way. I tried environeer Bert in gnomer, his 2ns pet wipes out my whole team since that fire stays for alot of rounds and stacks. got to his 3rd pet once, but that fire was still there, 15 tries and nothing.

i got a bombay cat with 305 attack and 305 speed with `1400 health, i think i bpught it at level 1 for 10silver in that goblin village outside orgrimar in the barrens, it absolutly wrecks pets even flying type matchups. another one i sugest is a owl with shade and night attack 9probly not the name of the attacks but oh well) as shade will cast darkness and then night attack will be a garuntied hit from 50% and does masive damage, ive one shated alot of pets this way and you can get two off before you have to reacast shade

I'm pretty sure Nexus Whelplings are no longer hard to find at all. Even on my super High pop realm the place was loaded and I could easily grab 3 P/P versions killing all the other ones. I would assume it got buffed along the spawnrate of the unborn valk

Honestly, with leveling the pets, depending on how many max level alts you have, you can go through each character and do the exact same WQ with the exact same pets on a different character. Say, for example there was a WQ that gives 15 Pet Tokens. It only takes 60 to purchase a level 25 boost. Do that on 4 characters, BOOM! This also works for the rare upgrades.

Yeah, the WQ pet battle scaling is broken AF. A lot of the pets you end up fighting have level 1 abilities with cooldowns, so you can get away with almost any level 1 pet vs them if it has a spammable level 1 ability since the opponent only gets one shot before you kill it. It makes the WQ trivial to complete compared to a full lvl 25 team.

Sure, but the main reason I do wqs apart from charms is to level up lowbie pets. You’ll get significantly more xp with a low level carry than your whole team being level 1.

My best trick for leveling pets easily, once you have a couple already 25, is to do the daily against Ashlei in Draenor (Shadowmoon Valley). I use it to take full advantage of the fact that battling against a team of pet level 25 using a team composed of 2 pets level 25 and 1 pet level 1, gives a shit ton of XP to your pet level 1. Since Ashlei's second pet is the elekk plushie and it doesn't do any damage, I put my pet level 1 against it for just 1 round (just so it counts) and then I'm sure it won't be one-shoted (as pet lvl 1 tend to be againt lvl 25). Then I switch back to pets who can actually do something in the fight. This way, after the fight the leveling pet become level 12 instantly. Saves a lot of time, but you do need 2 capable-enough pets for the other 2 slots during the battle.

Chrominius is not all that expensive usually and is a house. P/P Yellow Moth purchased from vendor, Grasslands Cottontail S/S and Any Rabbit S/S are all pretty easy to get and invaluable. The nerf on the Teroclaw Hatchling hurt, but it is still quite good and fantastic vs wild aquatic teams.

Yeah, they really need to create something where the Shiny Pet charms can be combined to create a Polished Pet Charm. As it stands once you have collected all the pets you can buy with Shiny Pet charms, they become absolutely worthless. This design philosophy that Blizzard has adopted where once a new expansion comes out all systems from previous expansions are deemed obsolete is just bad game design. Clearly the devs don't understand that not everyone wants to purchase a level boost, and some people want to actually play through the previous expansions, and not be hamstrung because of it.

star with iron starlette. do the usual wind up, supercharge, wind up for first shark. then wind up twice and try to do as much damage to the 2nd shark. once starlette dies i use an enchanted pen with forboding curse and quills to kill off 2nd shark. if it's still alive, try to get another forboding curse off on 3rd shark. then i use a cogblade raptor with expose wounds and batter and that usually finishes it off.

The dalies scale to the highest pet on your team. So 1-1-25 will be fighting a level 25 team, but 1-1-1 will be fighting a level 1 team
