This is excellent! A lot of the value people realize in ML is in the context of a company environment, where big data, MLOpts, compute and whatever else are available to make it all easy. But that’s not nearly as fun as the applications where you use ML to make something in the real world that you can use yourself. This hits home for me because later (maybe in 2023) I have plans to make a RL agent play super smash bros using just pixel observations. It’s quite an ambitious project but it’s similar in this spirit to this (CV and rewiring controls) - so I’m glad to see it’s doable.
