Hungary, and something similar for europe. 20 hours theorical study, an exam. After 30 hour and or 300km driving with a certified instructor. After that a driving exam. If you finished the only restriction is that you can't drive for 1 year on abroad, and you should have a a learning driver T plate in the car, but almost nobody does that.

In France it's 3000km minimum over 2 years max before you take the driving test. You can drive abroad though.

30 years ago i took the license in the army, had 2 drivers lessons and 15h of studying. Started on monday, had the license friday. Today it takes a lot longer, i guess its okey.

India - a learner's license for 6 months after an MCQ test with a 70% pass mark? You drive in an H shape, for 4 wheeler's, (8 for motorcycles) and then drive/ride with an assessment official for 10 minute on the road without doing anything absolutely horrible - and there you go. And no AI is driving in our roads anytime soon - the top gear episode about the whole ordeal is still very much true.

Info on licences in Canada: You first take a written test, which tests you on the basic rules of the road and signs and whatnot. This gains you what's called a "learner permit," which comes with various restrictions depending on your province. You usually can only drive with your learners, and you can't drive after a specific time (usually 10pm). After a year, you can go for a driver's licence, get, ts you your novice or whatever each province calls it. Some provinces you have to take another test after that but that's more specific than needed. Hope this helps

I.E. Canada does the US method mostly, Only difference is Terminology. In the US it starts as a Permit than you get a Class C and if you want to drive more Commercial/Industrial grade Road vehicles you get a B class or an A class License (with some added sub gradients for specialty cargoes) and you can have an M class License for Motorcycles and Scooters.
