I feel that it being a Battlefield game with a Quake skin is fitting. You're not playing as a overpowered soldier that's expected to fight hundreds of enemies in labyrinthian maps, you're playing as a normal soldier or expendable Strogg soldier in a giant map with vehicles. This game could do with a new remaster similar to Quake 1 and 2 that polishes up the visuals and animations.
@mohamadredzwan6628Ай бұрын
Man I can't put it in more fitting then this It legit just as said battle for territory not a strong individual going in but expandable normal freaking soldier that fight in a map.

Good games, just bad timing and trying to tick too many playerbases boxes. Wolf:ET players were still playing Wolf;ET. BF players played BF. Quake players had their hipster phase and played CoD because they were too grown up for arena shooters or something, I never figured out why those went out of fashion.

"Pretty good" is an understatement. This game has amazing offline bots, deployables, vehicles, classes, factions, a very simple/non-intrusive leveling system, is fast paced, has the ability to host your own dedicated servers (unlike many modern games), and just has great map/sound/gameplay design overall. Even if you don't want to try the multiplayer (which is still sometimes alive at certain times of the day in 2024), you should definitely play the campaign twice (one time for each faction), by yourself. It's just a lot of fun, and a decent challenge if you play on the highest difficulty. I think a lot of modern skirmish games are lacking the polish the developers put into ET:QW. Almost a two decade old game and it's still super fun to play both offline and online.
@elksalmon84Ай бұрын
The gameplay was definitely miles better than Battlefield/front. It encouraged team play and discouraged ratting. Back in time I did regret spending money on BF2 and BF3, but never regret buying Quake Wars.
@perfectlyroundcircleАй бұрын
@@elksalmon84 It's also much more fun offline, and quite different than the realistic tacticool games. So, refreshing. I'll always enjoy playing a match or two of this game against bots.

One neat touch is that the stroggs are wearing the armors of their previous lifes, which are space marines armors, since the stroggs probably fought the humans in space before invading Earth. Unlike the human faction which are from the GDF and only fight on Earth.
