Homemade liver pate is great, and there are a lot of variation. Some people add minced pork. Instead of lard you can use minced bacon, but use a piece with lots of fat. One of the comment mentioned thyme, but you can also add basil or garlic. I like to add grated apple, but use apples that are not sweet.

Leverpostej in swedish is leverpastej. We swedes love it as much as the danes (including the salty liqourice). It is supposed to be eaten together with pickled or salted cucumber in my opinion.

If you want to know a trick with the liver. When it's raw put it in a bath of milk for a hour or two. This makes it a little more liver taste and more smooth of a taste when it's done. Just but in the milk whole and after cut it up. This makes best if you do a liver pot cook. Great video and awesome to see you having a great time. If you want to get an idea of a travel. Take the train or drive from Copenhagen to Sweden and a little town called Bräkne-Hoby in Blekinge. It has a stop there if you ride with the train Kustpilen. There is a tiny butcher shop called Wiktor Olssons which is just a 100m walk from the trainstation. They are knowned for their Isterband which is smoked sausage based on lard. Also they have great leverpastej and something called pressylta which the translation I could find would be jellied loaf. They make everything the old way and classic. Isterband has been served at the Nobel party one year. They have taking prices in the Chark-SM swedish nationals for butchers. Just look up when it's open in the shop at Wiktor Olssons as they don't have opened every day. But it's well worth of a little trip there. They slaughter the animals in back of the shop and make all of the food there. The animals are from the close surroundings. It's pretty cool in these days to get the whole from one place. A lot of other things to put on your smørrebrød. And if like really strong sausages. You can talk to them and they will offer you the ones that are not out in the store. It's simply to strong to sell just for grabs and they will instruct you on how to eat it and prepare you to be doing afterwards. I think that the strongest one is called Die Hard 6.0 😂 A lot of smaller towns and cities a long where the train stops. The end stop is Karlskrona where I grew up. Go in to the city center called Trossö. It's an small island which is just a city area. And it has a cool nuclear safe space underground of most part of the city that takes a lot of people. They have guided tours you can take down there which is pretty interesting to go on. It's lowest point is 50m below sea level. Marinmuseum or the navy museum is also well worth a visit where you can go on to a submarine and other history things to see. Just some tips for a travel and it's so close to Denmark and easy to travel just over a day if you want to.

The problem with the recipe was, that it said "sødmælk" in danish 😂 So they thought it was sweetened milk! When in fact it just means.. whole milk(? Is that the right word for sødmælk?). I thought that was hilarious! Understandable, but hilarious! What would they have used, if it had said: minimælk? 😆 Maybe they would have found the smallest bottle of milk in the store! 😆😂

Hi :) It would be better with real lard, 'cause it prevent the leverpostej to be dry, when it's cold. And it would not taste so much of liver. The real lard would do the same as the fat in a steak..... more tasty and juicy. Try to ad a few anchovies next time. :) If you want to be able to cut a slice of the leverpostej, when it has been in the the refrigerator, you can make some paste in a pan with butter, flour and milk, like a thick sauce and add it to the chopped liver before baking it in the oven etc. :)
@jensholm57592 жыл бұрын
I have no patent as a dane. But to me leverspostej is making leftovers tasty and a succes. You take many dislike and add fat pork. By that You get healthy meat and a lot of energy. Since then other ingrediances has been added and if someone has not eaten something like this, You might say its almost as pate. I eat leverpostej and up to 500 grams a weak. I put on as they do here and can buy it with muchrooms as well as bacon. But many vegatables can be addictions. 'Spinach and salat between the bread and the leverpostej do it for me as well. All kinds of bread actually do if its not kind of sweet. Its fine as meat in a burger as well. Here at home we construct Our own burgers as we wish. Many things makes leverpostej to an equal member and its still leverpostej. Nice outube. It makes me smile and feel fine.
