The reason he is so emotionless is because the emotions have already killed him inside (he lost his mom, dear friends, his uncle, his comrades and ERWIN). HE SACRIFICED ERWIN FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY. I can't believe how much effort the creators have put on him. He is easily one of the BEST characters in the Anime World. I love him so much!
