I haven't seen anyone recommend this to you guys yet BUT as new anime fans it's only tradition for you to watch Naruto. It's my childhood and I've watched it all the time even when my parents were arguing and breaking stuff in the next room. The anime (and Bts) shaped my entire personality and bc I have such similar background as Naruto (it's almost scary lol) it made me relate to him sm. And I also want to suggest Arcane, made by Riot Games which is based on League of Legends characters Vi and Powder. It's an insane animation more than an anime (it's in english) and is available on Netflix. In 2022 it became the first streaming series to win Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. Soundtracks are amazing, intro made by Imagine Dragons and season 1 came out in November 2021 and we've been waiting for so long for season 2 and now it's coming this November! Don't miss out on the hype like you did for AoT lol and watch it before S2 comes out. Love Army💜

Seems like you don't realised it at all, but the last corpse that's seen being tossed from the wagon that Levi gave a heavy look on it was Petra, the obvious same hair and the exact same blood stain on her face. And the patch from the uniform of the corpse Levi took, many believed that it was Petra's too, because right before it, the scene showing the bite mark on that corpse same with the 'bite mark of trust' being shown on Petra's hand on the scene in the forest where Eren finally decided to believe in the squad (the scene right after the flashback on the 'mark of trust' scene where Levi's squad bite their hands to feel what Eren feels) And that means Levi lies to Dieter saying that's Ivan's patch, well he did'nt even try to fight because of the risk fighting on a plain land with his leg's condition, and instead there was Mikasa step in to save Dieter, so it means he never even got near to Ivan's body, no one actually, because when Dieter found Ivan's body everyone already about to leave and Erwin and Levi refused to recover Ivan's body because there's titan next to his body, right? Conclusion, Levi was intended to save Petra's patch for himself, but give it to Dieter instead and lied that it was Ivan's

Yup. That's why there was a lingering close up on Levi after he handed the patch to Dieter. Levi stares at the patch one last time before turning his eyes away, like he's snuffing out his emotions in that moment. As a more seasoned soldier, Levi has experienced so much loss and knows how difficult it can be to cope with that, which is why he chooses to give the recruit at least some semblance of closure. He rarely expresses it outright, but Levi really does care about his soldiers, it's just that sympathy doesn't help reduce casualties on the battlefield, calculated plans and logical decisions do, and Levi and Erwin as leaders understand that much.

23:25 The point of throwing the bodies off the cart is to LIGHTEN the cart, not to have a titan slow down to eat the body. Titans usually don't eat bodies that they haven't *just* killed.

If this doesn't show why other soliders typically don't go for the kill on titans, nothing will lol. Levi, and to a lesser extent, mikasa and other elite forces, are just way better than a lot of the people we've seen fight titans 10:49 The biggest reason as to why Levi didn't go for the female alone earlier, is cause he trusted Erwin's plan, regardless of the cost.

Like Eren had said last episode. If he had chosen to transform and fight they female titan when they first entered the forest they could have easily defeated her. Sadly, that's something he could only know after it was too late.

One of my favorite episodes of the whole show this. I've seen way too many other shows/films that just skip this "aftermath" part because it's "boring" but it really makes the whole world feel that much more real and human, and the character work for Levi in this one is what made him one of my favorite characters in all of fiction ever. Like sure, he was cool before but this episode really shows how deep his heart is and how he is completely different to how he seems on the surface. I have re-watched this show so many times over the years and Petra's father will never make me not cry.

I just realize that levi wanted to kill the titan and save the bodies but he was hurted and he could not

I believe although he wanted to he already realised that while the female titan could harden it’s skin it’s impossible for them to kill (as he tried in the previous episode and failed, even if it was blinded,or with limbs cut off the female titan could still protect its nape of the neck with the hardening ability, making it impossible to defeat). And Eren being humanities best hope of future victories outweighed the importance of avenging his squad, so he kept a clear unbiased mindset, and made the right decision despite how he felt (different to Mikasa, who wanted to avenge the squad and Eren, despite being told by Levi to forget about killing it due to the hardening ability at 7:15 )

But in this fight there were too many liabilities and other things to protect like retrieving Eren, and protecting Mikasa (which is how he sprained his ankle in the first place because she was being a bit reckless)

Since you were talking about TV Shows that have similar vibe as Attack on Titan, I would say the closest that come to mine in term of just gut wrenching deaths would be The Walking Dead. It's a similar show in that it creates these bonds with characters and the audience only for them to be taking away. It great show if you can stomach the gore and blood.

There IS another Anime (of course) that WILL ahem* decimate* you with the beauty and pain of it. Violet Evergardeen. Composer is American. The animation ALONE is one of the highest standards so far. I would Say VE is more emotionally charged and pulls at even more human strings than this one. This one veers more into psychological and socio political. With Action. Both equal masterpieces.

As Captain Levi said, in bad situations, it's all about making a decision for yourself that you would regret the least. Eren regretted _more_ his earlier decision _not_ to transform into a Titan and fight the Female Titan together with Captain Levi, rather than going with Captain Erwin's capture plan. In the future, Eren would be making decisions for himself that he would regret the least. 🤔
