@AmericanNomad, it might be that the property you were looking at vs the Hare House property has a different zoning designation... or the zoning standards were updated. When you are ready to buy land, my suggestion would be to be to ask San Bernardino for the exact zoning designation for each of those properties you are considering and ask again if there is a minimum square footage requirement for any of those properties. Do this BEFORE buying any property. The Hare House's zoning designation might not have a minimum square footage requirement but a property in a more "exclusive" neighborhood with larger custom homes might have a different zoning designation with a different zoning requirement/minimum house square footage. Good luck!!

It needs a small elevator hidden behind a bookshelf, which leads to a 14 foot deep basement. I would then rig the basement with a walkout to a connecting solarium or greenhouse, and hide the opening with a wooden deck and trap door. Then I would add a bathroom and small hotel style sink and kitchenette. I would use fake day windows to give the illusion of being above ground. Then along the walls I would add library styled book shelves, with a matching murphy bed. All I need now is about $275,000 dollars for the land and the build.

The kitchen and bath were separated by a door. The living room was were the bed also went. It was over 500 a month and that was early 1980's. Efficiency now goodness knows the price range. After watching hundreds of tiny homes, storage is essential, so storage should be under the stairs. am I missing the price?
@kaylalouw30413 жыл бұрын
true! i definite think they could've made some changes and put the pantry and extra storage under the stairs instead of next to it. it makes the kitchen a bit too small
@lorisullivan3273 жыл бұрын
But it’s an air b n b - maybe storage wasn’t such a requirement? 🤷🏼♀️

it's made to be to rented out for short periods of time like a hotel. Storage really doesn't matter.

I always liked the idea of a gated community with tiny homes. This looks fun

Awesome tiny house! I have drawn similar designs for my own future build! Very easy design to do with a second level. I would have utilized the roof of the carport as a deck area..not too hard to make it strong enough to walk on..but as an ARBNB too much of a liability but as a homeowner living in this home that extra deck area would be great.LOVE the "hare" theme!

I want to hear the construction price on this tiny house -- something tells me that all the "Oh, I want one!" comments will dry up when they find that tiny homes are not necessarily cheap.
@brandonb.53043 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this looks like at least $100k, not including the price of the land itself.

How is the electricity, water, and sewer connected? Is this home sitting on a slab foundation?

Yes its on slab, septic tank no sewer, and it uses solar panels on top of roof and (sometimes) carport. Oh and they are connected to water.

My father would absolutely love love this little home. He has raised rabbit beagels all my life and still has a few. He just likes to hear them running the rabbit while sitting by a fire. He does not shoot over his dogs or kill the rabbits. It's just a hobby he has had since he was young, plus gets him out in nature. All the rabbit photos and even wall paper. I'd add a few of his dog statue's and photos. Also all his trophies from entering the dog trials. He would be in heaven,Levi. I need to rebuild this in TN.for him. This home was cute but truthfully I got lost in all the memories I have of being carried around in Kentucky, Sweetwater, Virginia,S.Carolina all over as a very young girl by him following those dogs in running trials. Best memories ever. Thanks for sharing plus giving me a walk down memory lane. Your videos bring me much joy in ideas for my own ( if I ever get a floor plan. Exterior been completed) and also brings up the happiest times of my life. Being a kid. We all need a fully functioning adult size playhouse. Lil kid left in all of us. Great video,thanks again.
