REVIEW: Levis 511 Vs 512 review. Slim fit vs slim taper. What's the difference in fit between these two jeans cuts for men? Let's find out but first subscribe, as were starting right now!
The Levis 511 slim fit jeans, fit similar above the knee compared to the Levis 512 slim taper fit jeans. The real difference lies below the knee. The Levis 511 jeans sit below the waist, and are slim from the hip and thigh, but with a straight fit below the knee, from the upper calf down to the ankle, ending with a 14" leg opening. The Levis 511 jeans have the same size rise at 10" compared to the Levis 512 jeans, while both also sitting below the waist.
Now, the Levis 512 slim taper fit jeans, again, fit similar above the knee compared to the Levis 511 slim fit jeans. The difference lies below the knee. Just like the Levis 511 jeans, the Levis 512 jeans also sit below the waist, and are slim from the hip and thigh, but instead, taper down to a skinny 11.5" leg opening.
They are snugger below the knee, since they taper down to a smaller leg opening. The Levis 512 jeans, are a tailor inspired cut that were essentially designed to fit like the Levis 511's above the knee, but with an added taper below the knee to show your shoes better. Thanks man! I think the 511 slim is a good place to start or the 512 slim taper for a modern slim cut and go from there and decide if you want more or less room. But definitely man. I've been working hard on making content and finishing up a Levi's canvas trucker review and trying to step up my editing, so I still need to get back to your other thoughtful comment on my trucker jacket video. The 511 was my first Levi's cut and what I would typically rock. But in time I found the leg opening a little too big for me and unproportional for my shoe size. It literally swallows my shoes up. But I can see it being great if you're taller or have bigger feet for a more proportional look. Theres also a brand new Levi's jeans cut that they released and I'll be making a video on them! I wear a size 9.5 and the 511 swallows my shoes up and makes me look smaller, so a taper or smaller leg opening looks more proportional on me. Although I do love how the 511 fits above the knee and I completely agree that they're not too tight or not too baggy. I think your comment will help a lot of men decide which one is right for them. I'd go with the 512 to show off your shoes better. The 511 have a bigger leg opening and hide slim shoes like Van's. The 511 work better with bulkier footwear like boots. Hope that helps.

Good question bro. I think the 512 would look better on you plus show your shoes off better... The 511 will eat your shoes up more... although they can be good with boots. Lol how tall are you bro? One still might be a good fit for your body type. They actually fit similar above the knee and theres more of a difference below the knee. But one also fits at the waist while the other below the waist.

@@stylewithaltitude my issue is more with the fit in the calf and I need it to be tighter so maybe I’ll try the 512. My favorite pair of jeans is a pair of 511s that are about 9 years old and they are significantly smaller in the calf than the 511s I see today. It’s almost like 511 became more like boot cut over the years. Loose fitting below the knee is just very unfashionable right now.

And I completely agree about loose fitting below the knee. That's why I wear the 512 more than the 511 and has a good leg opening size. Have you tried the 510? I like how they're more fitted below the knee and those are my go to cut a long with the 512. Also Levi's came out with a brand new cut called the Skinny Tapered that I'm really loving right now! They're nice and form fitting below the knee with an even smaller leg opening than both the 512 and 510. I'm actually working on a new video on that new cut to show you guys how it fits. The 512's look terrible on the back pockets; which hang well below the front pocket line, and make the back pockets hang on the thigh, which gives a very flat looking butt, and the fact that you don't even have to sag your pants to get that look is just downright pathetic.

After trying the 510, I did notice that the back pockets on the 512 sit lower. The 510 sits more on the butt area while the jeans sit at the waist while the 512 sits below the waist. Good eye brother. That can definitely be something to consider when making the right decision.

@Cali_ Kid I use Van's and Converse too and got out of Jordan's lol. I like a more sleek and simple design these days. But it can depend on your shoe size and waist as well. The 511s can look better on a bigger shoe size and smaller waist size jeans. Although for me the leg opening is too big for slimmer shoes. A lot of people like the 511s for Jordan's though too since they tend to be bulkier. You think the pockets look a lot different on both jeans?
