What a time it was. Dua Lipa was one of the greatest singers of our times. I remember me and my grandma used to dance to this song when i was around 4-5 years old. Today i am 98 years old, maybe my body doesn't support me a lot but this song still makes me want to dance and enjoy every beat with fresh moves. Kids enjoy your life and cherish every moment that you create with your loves ones. That what really matters at the end of the day.

It doesn’t sound great when I say this but I mean this in the best possible way- I like how this feels super simple and un-flashy, as much as a big band cover of a pop song can be. Those solos were incredible - one after the other. Where does PMJ get such good clarinetists? And the arrangement! This works so well it's like it was originally a jazz tune that somehow got made pop? It's like okay, there was a song, and Dua Lipa did it, but Scott turned it into its complete self. Composed by César Franck around 1880, I think. He and I were sitting in Place Pigalle, drinking absynth. For him it was just a little ditty that he was humming. Lyrics came a few years later, just before his death.

Curves weren’t actually the signature during the 1920s ahah, i’d say that’d be more the surrounding decades. Of course, that was just the ideal, and people’s body types wouldn’t change magically between decades haha.
