Lucas Oliver and BECAUSE it floats, and it's not on the ground, it won't be dampened by something restricting it's vibration. If you knew how a speaker worked, you would know what i'm talking about. Next time you see a speaker that doesn't have a type of suspension system (in this case the magnets) and restrict it's vibrations and listen to the dampened sound.

It does make a difference. If the speaker is on the ground, it can't produce as full of sound because it will vibrate into the ground preventing a full discharge of vibrational force. It would also prevent other things from making vibrations, such as a closing door, from effecting it.
