My question is: did Nadab and Abihu go to heaven or hell after God consumed them with fire…?? Its seems to me that these two sons of aaron would be just as devout as they’re father would of been, after all…!! these men got to see God.( from a distance ) Aaron and his sons just got done offering a sacrifice that was accepted by God and consumed by holy fire and then afterwards Nadab and Abihu offer theyre unauthorized incense ……… it doesn’t seem like an actual rebellion was taking place in theyre minds and hearts, it seems like something they were doing out of genuine sincerity as something they wanted to offer God as the best of what they had to offer…..it seems like it was an honest mistake! But when i look at God in the NT he’s a God thats not quick to anger and punishment, like with paul. If i were to follow the actions of God in the New Testament id come to a place of forgiveness for paul and his mislead actions in persecuting the early church, just like God did. But if i were to follow the example of God with Nadab and Abihu, id be put in prison for life. Imagine if i order something from domino’s, two large pizzas! But in my order i also order a specific cheese cake, strawberry cheese cake and specifically not chocolate cheese cake because i have an allergy to chocolate… But when the delivery guy gets to my front door l’o and behold… there’s a chocolate cheesecake cake in the order instead of strawberry, at this point if I follow Gods example in Lev. 10, I should kill the delivery guy for genuinely getting something on the order wrong. Instead of rebuke, correction and forgiveness and given the chance to go back to get the correct item….., he gets killed right on the spot for not having the correct cheesecake. And then the question of “did these sons go to heaven or hell” brings a whole other level of ethics and morals to the table. Whereas if they went to heaven then that kind of makes God look like he’s contradicting himself…. And if they went to hell then this makes God look like a horrific monster who’s quick to judgment and punishment and prescribes eternal hell, without a chance for correction in honest mistakes. Furthermore…! Aaron the father of these two sons is told by moses after theyre deaths by fire from God, not to mourn his two sons death’s… This bothers me especially because im a father of one ☝️ and i couldn’t imagine telling a father who just witnessed his two sons brutal death that he’s not allowed to mourn his sons deaths…🤷🏻‍♂️ thats just unfathomable imo. Unfortunately, this line of thinking plagues my thoughts as a Christian when I consider this passage. I truly don’t understand this aspect of God in the OT …🫤🤷🏻‍♂️
