The “burning by fire” freaked me out, but it was because the people had to understand how serious the crime that they committed was, the Priest in Leviticus chapter 21 was a type of Christ and his family had to be “perfect” like the Priest was “perfect” as a foreshadowing of Jesus our perfect sacrifice that saves our souls through His death, burial and resurrection: He is THE perfect sacrifice.
