SAGE! Watching you jump these big booters like I've never seen before gets me so stoked dude! Great insights, I've never truly ridden one on trail but I can see how it could be weird trying to control the speed on tech. Let's get Skyline laps in soon! Also we both dropped Specialized bike impressions videos on the same day 😂

Great video, your analysis is spot on. I am 60 years old and I ride MTB and EMTB. I prefer the MTB when the weather is nice, but when it is above 90 degrees you cannot beat the EMTB .I have learned to use the power levels the same as the derailleur, when going into switchbacks and techy situations sometimes I will turn the power off. It becomes very intuitive. Once you and your buddy Sploosh buy one, you will be addicted. It definitely does not stop me from riding my MTB and road bike as I ride to stay in shape also. Not trying to stay you, but you are going to love it when you finally pull the trigger.

there's a Mission Control setting called Acceleration, which allows you to control how quickly the motor reacts to the pedals, I have mine backed off to zero so it feels more natural but the factory setting is probably 50% or so, which may account for the unexpected lurching that you experienced. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Levo!

Love my levo! I have road for 30 years and the last couple years on my ebike I have improved more than the previous combined. I’m a bigger guy, 240ish and sometimes fitness (from working long hours) can be a problem. Now I can have fun every ride and I want to ride all the time. I definitely explore more now and that is another aspect of mountain biking all together. I bought my wife an ebike, who would consider herself a non-athlete and we have a blast together. She still can’t ride the heavy tech but blue trails are in her comfort zone now. She is uncatchable on the climbs because she is so much lighter. It’s great we can ride at the same pace now. She stays on high and I started with her on eco but by year two had to switch to trail to keep up haha. As you said the weight makes you a better jumper but the bike doesn’t stop as fast going down hill. I found out the hard way and broke my collarbone. Ebikes are not really meant to go faster on the trail necessarily because pa trails are tight enough to modulate speed but they definitely make uphills more doable. That’s where you can make speed. I ride for fun and ebiking is simply fun. Lastly, ebiking keeps your heart rate in a great fat burning zone and doesn’t totally blow up your heart rate. An average 50 year old guy can’t just safely jump on a mountain bike and ride in Appalachia without blowing up his heart. You would have to work up to it fitness wise. My wind/cardio is excellent from ebiking even though I’m not super consistent with when I ride even with my work and family schedule. Not everyone is a trail sage, lol.

Great video Sage, I am way behind in watching, but I'll try to catch up over the next couple of days. I totally share your thoughts on the e-bike. I would never fully trade it in for my analogue bike, but having the option to go out on a ride even when my legs are not ready for long hard uphills on the Enduro bike surely makes it worth considering. And I have to be honest with myself. I turned 50 this year and getting into shape takes longer than 10 years ago. And not being in good enough shape oftentimes keeps me from riding my enduro. I have to use my precious riding time for getting in the base level miles on my roadbike just to be able to power up my enduro on long climbs. Riding the Enduro on a rest day? No bleeding way ... at least without a motor. So as soon as my budget allows for it I will pull the trigger for sure!

Right on Christian. Now that we are both getting older I feel your sentiments, and totally agree with your assessment. great video Sage, agreed in everything you said, now would be great having your opinion about the Levos SL or any lightweight ebikes... maybe more playful, nimble, also you can use eco mode therefore work more in your fitness and most importantly have more control of the bike with the slow tech (because of the less weight and less power) thanks again and happy trails man!
