I wanted to get this for my studio apt, but went with the Vital 200s considering a 380²ft studio is not just a room but a kitchen too so I thought the 200s would be more effective. The 200s was on special at 160 so I thought it made more sense. A shame tho, I like the smaller size of the 100s.

I think you made the right call as long term it will cost the same to run and you can use your 200 in lower fan speed and get more air cleaning power than what you get for the 100.But agree smaller would be better!

Thank you for the review. I am in the EU market, and they do refer to the filters as HEPA. Do you know if they use a different filter over here, or is it just that the legal issue in the US hasn't impacted the marketing over here? I'm curious how would you compare this to the Coway 150 or 250 for dust and mold (old home)?

I have heard this and am not sure why they would still use the term HEPA in the European market but I would imagine the US is the primary market as they are based in the US. Maybe its a risk of class action suit that they don't worry about as much in EU? You get a little more power with the Coway 150 and a lot more with the 250 (Although I haven't tested this device yet but it is on my list to look at soon.) Hope that helps!

@@HouseFresh Regulations in the EU are much more strict than in the US. They would be sued by the EU's consumer protection lawyers if the marketing was incorrect. It's likely that they are only selling HEPA filters in the EU. The EU has been rather obsessed with air quality in recent years.

Love the review, I have 2 of these for bedrooms and i love them. My biggest complaints are that you cant use pet mode without the app, and it may be a “me” issue but my Alexa has trouble setting the modes over voice

Is the performance of this Vital 100S better than the Core 300S? If so by how much? Would you say its worth paying a bit more ?

You get a small bump in performance over the 300S which cleaned our test room in 45 minutes and the Vital 100S took 38 minutes. The other benefit is that you get a removal pre-filter with the Vital 100S which is a little easier to keep clean vs removing the filter like you have to do with the 300S.

I think so as its cleans a bit quicker and you benefit from the removal pre-filter. But does take up more floor space. I am in the process fo testing the airmega 100 but will be a while before the review is live.

I haven’t but I have been offered an 18% commission to push it. I normally only get 3% so this makes me a little suspect that it’s not a good unit as otherwise why would you need to give affiliates such a big chunk? I will look to test but my spider sense makes me think it’s not a good unit.

Likely don’t need the size of the xiaomi 4 pro for a small bedroom. Might want to also look at the xiaomi 4 compact as that would be similar power to the vital 100s.

@@HouseFresh Edit: Amazon had a sale for the Coway 1512HH - ordered that one Thanks for the fast reply. The 4 compact is half the price of the vital 100s for me - looks like a good deal. Is there anything I'm missing out on by getting a 4 compact, rather than getting the vital 100s, or the 4 pro? Are the differences just room size coverage?

Seems to be HEPA 99.97 of 0.3 microns based on the German website. The US website says HEPA grade when on Sleep mode.

New to the air purifier arena. We recently bought two thanks to your channel, so thank you! I noticed the app measures air quality. Is it normal to almost always have an "Indoor Air Quality Very Good" reading? It has read "good" or "moderate" air quality before but only for about 20 seconds or so. Does this mean it is cleaning the air that fast? By the way, thanks for the tip on cleaning the senor every couple of months.

All dependent on the air quality in your area so might be very good in your location. I still like to have them run on medium speed to provide benefits of reduced exposure to viral particles from other people or continually remove allergens.

Not tested for this particular model of air purifier but when I have tested for other brands/models , the generic filters perform as well as the OEM for removing particles.

Levoit has now removed the term HEPA from their marketing material so we can assume the filters are not HEPA grade. Whilst this isn't a good look for Levoit, the use of non-HEPA grade can actually improve performance in air purifiers as they will allow for more airflow than what you find with HEPA grade filters so they can actually remove tiny particles faster. This guy did a great video on this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZK0hYyonticm6M& So whilst it's not good for their brand reputation, this is still an effective device.
