I got this model a couple of months ago. I was skeptical about the air sensor. However, when my dog walks past it, after coming in from outside, the blue light turns green for a minute or two. I really like it so far. I’m thinking of getting the vital 100s for my bedroom.

Does your pre-filter screen have a bend to it? Mine does and on the edges there's a bit of space due to the bend so i guess dust/hair could enter from the sides

Doesn’t the core series have to be a foot or two away from a wall or furniture where this one can be flat against a wall or furniture?

Can you guys please cover third party filters vs official filters? I just bought the core 300 and love it and the filters are not that expensive at $30 each. However there are third party filters 2 for 30. I would like to know if there is any drop in quality.

Seconding this, third party filter reviews would be really helpful to me. I bought a Renpho purifier not too long ago, only to since learn that the brand has discontinued the product - so I can now only buy replacement filters from a third party, unless I just get a new air purifier altogether. There's not much information out there on the reliability of third party filters, so I'm not sure what to do. 😫

Would this work well in my office? I work at a casino and my office is right off the smoking section. I have a Levoit 300 but in a week it starts to smell like old smoke and two months in, the filter is full. Any suggestions?

Seems like it's doing its job. I like incense and I notice when I'm burning more incense my filter needs to be replaced more quickly. I went a while without burning any and my filter laster longer.

Can these units be placed against a wall? The 400S and 300S are required to be placed 15" away from a wall. Thinking these would fit better in many areas the 300S or 400S can. We tried the 400S and 300S but unfortunately both units had a whine on low speeds that was noticeable. Thanks

Only thing missing is a sound test . I cannot sleep if anything fan based rattles or knocks at all . Even a slight knock or rattle keeps me awake , other wise a great review

i have this model. There are 4 modes ranging from 1 - 4 4th being the loudest. the lowest setting is so low you can’t even hear it it’s like nothings there so i’d recommend it for you.

Fair enough. I just don't see any reviews on the levoit PlasmaPro series on KZbin except one from the HSN. Still torn between the winix 5500-2 and the levoit PP 400s. thoughts? Are ionic cleaners slightly better?
