One of Britain's top bandleaders, known throughout the nation to have smooth, rich arrangements that never fail to disappoint the masses, and of course, with his great vocalist; Al Bowlly!

Lovely Thank you Panachord. Lew is probably my number one musical hero and what is nice is we have the same birthday. Wish I'd had the opportunity to meet Joyce while she was still with us. If there is a heaven, there will be a Monseigneur there too!

Mark, yes an afterlife with a Monseigneur would be perfect! Have you seen the Black Mirror episode San Junipero by any chance?

@@timefortea1931 I've not, but I get the idea. Hopefully a spiritual, rather than a virtual Monseigneur!

@@phaasch Yes, you were right- it was an A.I "afterlife." The protagonists ( 2 women) were old ladies who had been young in the 1980s and you could have your consciousness uploaded to a server and be in a VR place of your choosing, and when you knew death was coming you could upload your consciousness to the place where you'd live on forever. Of course you weren't really "there" physically, but you experienced being there. I'd go for that- but of course 1930s London and the Monseigneur. Well, we don't know if there is a "spiritual afterlife"- it cannot be proven, but an A.I one would be a proven ( if we had the technology), so I'd go for the latter. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Junipero

@@timefortea1931 It's not possible to upload your consciousness to a virtually reality. It never will be either, cryogenic stasis is probably your best option.

Lew was just brilliant with a very characteristic sound. Oh for a time machine to go and see him and the boys in the a Monseigneur...

Wow never heard "Speak Easy" before- it's fantastic! love Harry Berly's viola playing.

Its lovely, isn't it? Although oddly it was billed as a Rhumba on the record, when its so obviously a Bolero. Andy LeMaitre i know has a copy, and perhaps if I ask him nicely enough, he will put it on his channel, as its only been reissued (very poorly) once before. Its on the flip side of "Faster, faster", so a coupling of 2 very unusual numbers, both featuring our friend Harry Berly. Edit- just put the request in to Andy now.

@@phaasch Yes, a great recording. I know Faster Faster also! Lovely Harry speaks on it.
