A Morocco overland film: Will we survive the Sahara desert?

If you are watching this video you know we survived, at least until editing and uploading. But let us tell you this, first year overlanders with basically no skills driving through colorful villages, sharp mountain egdes and loose sand dunes is guaranteed an adventure. Sit back and enjoy the show! THIS is the Rover without Lewie, destination: MOROCCO.

I just come back from there last week. definitely there is something magic when u get stuck in the desert the panic can get u fast but if u calm down and do what need to be done u can get yourself unstuck not easily but surely and u will feel very proud and happy of ur achievement.

Guys... awesome video and drone footage giving an extra dimension to all those amazing landscapes that Marocco has... You guys drove some of the pistes I drove back in 2018 with my Defender 90... The engagement was also in the best place, i'd say, and was emotional, congratulations. That place where you stayed is pretty nice, you were driving close to Le Cathedrale, an epic place where some people practice skydiving or basejump, some moroccan friends told me that piste is not dust anymore, asphalt has covered most of it... I went back to Morocco on October 2019, but renting a car there, to make things easier... and the next time I want to drive my VW T3 Syncro Westfalia there and stay at least 1 month, from here, the Canaries, is a bit complicated, have to go to South Spain by ferry (2 days) and the cross the strait... Thanks for sharing and the effort making the video... is not easy. You have got another subscriber.😄😄👍

love it, especially since you went off the beaten path... different than most videos/experiences by foreigners in Morocco. Visiting the country myself next month and was wondering whether you had any advice for drone usage in the country. I own a drone but based on what I have read online it is best if I leave it at home. Any advice you could provide regarding drones in Morocco would be greatly appreciated!

It’s such an epic country, you will have the best time. Taking your drone is illegal and you need special permission. they are still banned. If they see you with it you will get in trouble unless you have a special permit.

YO! This was incredible! I just found your channel through this video, and just wow! The cinematography was fantastic, the shots were fantastic, the voiceover was done well. You guys told such an intimate story without a lot of live commentary through your trip, and I think sometimes it makes it harder to tell a story, but I think that was not true for this! Just such a great story, a great adventure and such a great message to the viewers towards the end talking about chasing your dreams. A Morocco overlanding trip was not on my list but it sure is now! What a great few videos you posted: breathtaking drone shots, good camera work (some scenes could use gimbal stabilization and better sound, but for the most part is flawless), excellent / professional video editing (including diegetic sounds for the drone shots), but I think the most important part of the success of your videos on this brand new channel is your STORYTELLING skill. I think the storytelling is the single biggest differentiator why these 3 videos have had such a success, compared to videos from established overlanding channels. I watched the Ireland and Morocco videos at least 4 times each, which I NEVER did for any other overlanding videos (and I watched probably thousands of them in the past 4-5 years). If you can keep up this kind of quality for your videos, even if you produce only one per month, you could go full time on YT after you produce 3 more videos and you’ll get at least 50k subs by that point. I hope you could accomplish that, because there’s a really big need for this kind of GREAT STORYTELLING overlanding videos. Congratulations again and I can’t wait for your new videos. In the meantime, I’ll watch couple of more times the existing ones! 👍

It won’t be easy to follow up these excellent videos with others of the same quality. But nothing that is easy is worth getting excited about… Please don’t fall into the trap of creating the “normal” travel vlogs (=super boring): “We’ve been there and done that. Then we went there and did the other. And now we’re here and doing this. And so on”. As Oscar winner screenwriter Andrew Stanton said in his TED Talk: “The greatest story commandment is: Make Me Care! Emotionally, intellectually, aesthetically. Just make me care!” So as long as you follow the same formula as you did in your last two videos (take us on your adventures, show us why is that interesting, what you felt during the adventure and what you learned from it), we will, most likely, care! And we’ll watch (and rewatch) your videos. Congratulations on your engagement and have some great adventures in 2023!
