It's funny that you compare Lewis to Adele so much because he's said this in an interview comparing himself: "imagine Adele and she's a guy and she's not as talented and that's me." But obviously Lewis is super talented and I love his music so much. Love the reaction!!

One of the rare pop artist that doesn't need harmony behind his vocals to drive home a chorus. His vocal strength makes his voice cut through all on its own without needing any help with added harmony. Truly inspired to a heavenly extent.

Before You Go is actually about his aunt that he found out committed suicide when his was a child. He didn't find out until he was older, so the song is him wondering if he could have done anything to prevent it at the time.

im mega late to this but this one hits hard, my uncle committed suicide when i was 6. i have absolutely no memory of any of the adults in my life acting different or sad, and i only have 1 memory of my uncle himself. i didnt find out how he actually died until i was nearly an adult and i still felt some guilt that i didnt do anything even though i was only 6

Absolutely love your take on albums and the lyrics within them. Personally, this is one of my favorites. I would love for you to react to James Arthur’s discography. It’s similar to Lewis’ in the powerful vocals and impactful lyrics. I’d recommend starting with Back From The Edge and working toward this years album (3 albums total). Really amazing stuff from him as well that I feel you’d enjoy. Keep it up!

Oh no. You take me from Adele to whomever this is. My God his voice pierces. I feel like I feel trying to both listen to the lyrics and his voice. It is like listening to To Be Loved. You just cannot. You did this…by recommending this to me. Why have I never heard him? I am old I have heard everything by everyone. Oh God he is a male Adele. I both need this and cannot take it at the same time…He is so brave. Thank you Michael.

‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’ is actually a lyric pulled from an unreleased song that was supposed to be on this album but wasn’t finished in time - he talked about it in a few interviews and played a snippet of it on an Instagram live (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4jcp4yMecZ5h8k - around the 9mknute mark I think??) it only plays for a few seconds but it sounds insanely beautiful

Z"Before you go" is a song dedicated to his aunt, who committed suicide when he was a child. Lewis spoke about it, previously, which makes the song, even more heart wrenching and heartfelt. I've become such a fan of this awesome person, so have learned much about him

This album is Immaculate! Lewis Capaldi is so talented and this is really a no-skip album. Amazing! My Top 3 are probably Someone You Loved, Before You Go, and Bruises! The whole album is great but those 3 always stand out for me. This album just sounds so raw, and the way he sings, or how his voice comes in during certain parts of a song just gets you off guard. He is an incredible artist! ❤

Finally!!! I've been waiting for you to react to Lewis Capaldi and just be amazed and at awe to his songs. How deep he is and how amazing his voice is. You might see him through his songs as someone very serious but watching him in various videos you'll crack up on how unintentionally good he is as a comedian 🤣. BTW the Forever song is about how he thinks will happen when he and his ex would meet again, and he writes his songs about 6 months after an event because he said in an interview that he cannot write a song on the spot about how he feels at the moment, he writes it 6 months after where he recalls what happened.

Headspace has been my favorite song since the album came out. I learned it on the piano and it’s my song to sing. It has such a special place in my heart especially the last line. “I never thought that a lie, could sound so sweet, until you opened your mouth and you said you loved me.” Chills every time. I will never ever stop listening to it.

This album is honestly really deep and relatable. His voice is so emotional and raw it’s beautiful to not listen to it and also this album. This album is my favorite album currently right now cause of everything I said and how it goes through of what I’m going through as well. Such a beautiful masterpiece of an album. Lewis Capaldi is one of my favorite artists. Too bad he has Tourettes and he struggles with it live. But the whole fan base was helping him singing was the best experience ever.

Here’s what happens when you listen to this album for the first time: You start LIKING the songs and you realize his voice is out of this world right? RIGHT! But then you begin LOVING EVERY SINGLE SONG from the half of the album (until the end). At this moment you start wondering: “am I just impressed by his incredible vocals or the songs are really THAT good?!”. From now on you pay more attention to lyrics, instruments and harmonies and you get to the conclusion that yeah… HE IS AMAZING AND THE SONGS ARE “THAT” GOOD!!! By the way my favorite ones are: Fade / Forever / One / Bruises / Don’t get me wrong. I was so happy when I saw you reacted to “DUTAHE”… it’s 3 AM in Brazil right now but when I saw that YOU reacted to him I just HAD TO watch it… I’m a huge fan of Lewis and I truly loved your reaction! * I love ALL your reactions actually *

"Before you go" will always make me cry knowing what it really is about, but it makes me think of my friend who committed suicide in 6th grade, and my cousin tried to stab himself infront of his family and is currently trying to drink himself to death, he is 18 right now. I also had a friend in 9th grade who wanted to but texted me and i had to talk him down from it and find him help, so his lyrics in this song really does hit in the worst places. Lewis makes us feel his lyrics and relate in some way and is truly amazing at doing it

Oh have I listened to this album. Still do! I agree about Adele and Lewis being similar. Emotional big voices, both of them. I like Lewis more cuz he is my spirit animal and he's just a very interesting human being. I mean, he is so relatable, and kind of adorable ngl! But musically, Adele's got experience and practice in the big leagues that Lewis is just starting to get, so he is not in her league for now. Can't wait to see where he goes from there and hopeful that the *biz* is not gonna ruin him by making him generic. I want the dork and foul mouthed funny guy to keep being just that! 43:05 - From what I take from the song, I feel as if it is Lewis himself acting as a third party and giving an overview of how the person listening to the song let the priorities of their relationship get away from them, and now that partner has moved on to a brighter and better person, and the listener is regretful of that. "the one that got away" is the lyric specifically that makes me think this.
