Thank you for Watching this powerful video with Dr. Mark Hyman!
Leave a comment below and let me know what part of the interview you enjoyed the most with Dr. Hyman!
Dr. Mark Hyman, M.D. is the founder and medical director of the UltraWellness Center, Director of the Cleveland Clinical Center for Functional Medicine, and the Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Functional Medicine.
He is a New York Times bestselling author with books like 10-Day Detox Diet and Eat Fat, Get Thin. His latest book Food: What The Heck Should I Eat? provides an explanation of the nutritional science around food and why the political, environmental, economic and social issues corrupt our understanding of food.
Dr. Hyman is one of my favorite people to learn about health from because he is so honest about what’s going on. Instead of trying to push his own agenda, he’s got humanity’s best interest at heart.
*In This Episode, You Will Learn:
How Dr. Hyman sees food affecting our environment (8:13)
When Dr. Hyman’s opinion was influenced by the food industry (12:59)
What Dr. Hyman, being a functional doctor, sees as the root of disease (16:38)
The question Dr. Hyman asks himself when food shopping (25:00)
What Dr. Hyman sees as the greater footprint beyond your own health (28:24)
How Dr. Hyman sees the power of the individual vs. the food system (34:00)
What Dr. Hyman sees as the problems with grouping disease by symptoms and not causes (38:15)
Plus much more…

Yes! People are confused! Too much different information, and each group is so passionate about their views. As memory I can’t forget is watching a video of an interview with 3 doctors-a vegan doctor, a keto doctor, and Dr. Hyman. The other two doctors were arguing back and forth passionately. Dr. Hyman was quiet. He seemed the most happy and most calm. That made me want to know what he’s eating.

I'm so glad i watches this. I've been so confused which way to go, vegan or paleo-keto. Dr. Hyman does look a lot younger, healthier, vital now that he's stopped being a vegan. I've been a follower of his for 15+ years, so I can definitely see the difference. I think I can help Dr. Hyman with creating a movement to change quality of food in this country - because it has been one of my biggest frustrations too.

I don't know where to start from, cause I'm still in surprise and yet to believe that I've been truly cured and totally free from HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS. I got the complete cure for my 7 years Genital herpes here on KZbin, meanwhile! it still this same KZbin most people always keep blaspheming about that one can't find a cure just as they believed that there's no cure to herpes virus anywhere in the world simply because they have been brainwashed by those so called Medical Doctors who continuously fool them with Modern medicines, vaccines and antiviral drugs from the Hospitals and Labs. Modern medicine doesn't cure herpes and it can never get rid of it, because Modern medicines and drugs every time do pass through different and lots of chemicals during the manufacturing process, and they are all full of fake!. And some other foolish people believe that Hydrogen Peroxide, detoxing, fasting and going raw can get them cured,,,,, lol! those are time and energy wasting because those protocols or methods are all bullshit! None of those protocols works. The main purpose for antiviral drugs such likes of Acyclovir, Famciclovir, Valacyclovir is to suppress the itching and spreading of the herpes virus inside the body through blood, most cases the antiviral drugs are every helpful in reducing pains when one is experiencing an outbreak just as Oregano Oil is helpful as well, but they can never get you cured. I used natural roots and herbs to eliminate my long term genital herpes and all thanks goes to my lovely DR. IDUMEBOLO who prepared me the herb treatment. I stumbled on a video about herpes here on KZbin when I saw people's comments testifying about Dr. Idumebolo on how he got them cured from herpes disease with his effective herbs medicine, so I copied the doctor's contact from one of the comments. I gave it a try and it worked for me too, just 11 days of using Dr. Idumebolo's herbs medicine I got my complete cure from my genital herpes of so many years. I used Dr. Idumebolo's herbal medicine, and I'm here boldly telling Y'all that herpes truly has a cure and it's only with the help of natural roots and herbs. My doctor Idumebolo prepared the herbal medicine cure for my genital herpes and he shipped it to me via UPS,,,, and within a week the herbal medicine was delivered to me in my residence here in Montgomery, Alabama. I'm so excited to be completely cured from herpes virus.... Thanks to doctor IDUMEBOLO, your herbal medicine truly works and it is so effective and powerful. I love this guy, a doctor that believes in preventative nutrition for health, this is so rare. Science is amazing but it's used for so many bad things to make money. Im vegan mostly, but i dont think everyone needs to be. Everyone has their own path. As long as we can support farmers, organic food, but also make it more available and less expensive so more ppl can eat better I believe is so important. I want to travel the world and go to different farms and see different ways of life and how different it is than city life in America. I know we have so much to be thankful for and we have advances and tech to make our lives easier, but ppl are still unhealthy, depressed, toxic, etc and its affecting my life and the ppl around me. So this is a huge topic, FOOD is life. My favorite books to read are nutrition books, and books on noticing how corrupt big corporations are. Its a field I am interested in and want to be a part of, but im not sure what that path is. But i would love to go to school for nutrition and holistic health.

I live in Florida in St. Pete and the red tide last year was absolutely horrific!! I refuse to believe that these sugar companies aren’t throwing the ecosystem off in this state. Our consumption of sugar is not only destroying our bodies but it’s destroying our waters and land. Each year I have lived here has been more disturbing than the last. I have experienced these things in my own body and seen them with my own eyes. He talks about the balance of foods and finding what works for your body. He talked about trying all kinds of different eating plans and finally finding what he thought was the best ideas and using those parts of them. I liked the talking about the correlation of how the food chain works together, and the dhow to follow the money . I agree with how food affects peoples behavior and how to fix it, since I think that is part of what is going on with these violence driven acts now. Part of it is frustration and not enough to do, but it is also what they are eating affecting the behavior that they may not normally do, and it being put up with or allowed.

@@Jusderrick You know that there are no black or white people...if you place your hand on a piece of black or white paper, you will see that we are all just human beings with different amounts of Melanin at the surface of our skin, only based upon where our forefathers came from...Some dipshit looser, a long time ago, was such a little bitch POS, was afraid of someone being a little different, got all but hurt scared needing a safe-space box, and instead of saying how did you get that really creamy dark/white skin, woohoo...and sit-down and get to know them by having a great character or thereabouts and at least today we should be evolved enough to know that no one is black or white...it's the statement of the ignorant that is used by the puppet masters to get people against each other, which they use to control all of us...One day, me since I was 6, we will all look at another human being as just that, another human being...and if they didn't get the right childhood, we need to help them, no matter how dark or light their skin is... we should all have better character! What do you think? My great-grandpa, I'm 50, came over from Ireland in a cage with 5 others in that cage and he said there were about 100 cages on the ship (sale boat) haha, and that they got off course in a storm. Some of the cages fell off the boat, and the food ran out...he watched them kill and eat many of the others and worse... he said they were British. Then, in America, every sign said Irish need not apply for a job, no Irish...he got spit on, shit thrown at him and shot 7 times and left for dead... What do you think? Humanity is really about the 0.0001% and the rest of us..my ggp was a slave and worse...today the new slave is the employee...today over 99.99% of humans do not care what color a humans skin is, or where they come from...just the character of that human and 99.9% of humans with dark or light skin, would share their food with another person of different darkness of skin.. Like 93-year-old Veteran and First Responder Don, who at 17 was in the Marines, where they put darker-skinned humans in different housing and shit food...he would sneak over and give them his food and still thinks the same way...he gives to anyone who is mistreated by the overlords who really don't care what our skin color is, they just want to use anything to conquer all! Also, 93-year-old Don took a ton of s for hiring the first female firefighter in CA. If we really care about humanity, we only have to look at how all societies have treated woman...so so so ridiculous! You know, like the good ol' days when all you needed to do was declare your wife to be a witch, then put her in a gunny sack with rock, threw her in the river/lake and if she dies, well she wasn't a witch, but if she lived you could kill her because she was a witch, or they just burnt the woman to death or worse...what a world what kind of complete POS could do that... We are so lucky to live in this world, this time and this place...we need to look at the past, only so we don't go backward to the crap that went on and look at where we are going... What do you think???

Wow, Lewis is really thinking about this stuff! One question though, if our diet is supposed to be 80/20 plants and animal products respectfully, why not just go the full 100%? Or vegan? Wouldn't that be even better? At 20%, it's not even worth it anymore, In the end I keep coming back to a Whole Foods plant based diet as the most positive thing to do for the animals, planet, and my physical and mental health. And it's the thing that makes the most sense in my heart:)

Eating plant based whole food diet is optimal for human health! Plenty of studies to show how bad animal products are for us. How about bringing Dr. Greger, Dr. Garth Davis, MD. Joel Kahn, Dr. Esselstyn or Dean Ornish on the show :) so they can explain.

And I am definitely not designed to eat meat, because I have never EVER eaten raw meat and I never will, because it's disgusting. I doubt my puny little teeth could rip through raw meat. Every time I eat a steak I end up spitting out half of it because it's too hard to chew. And I would absolutely never dare to Killy own " food " now that I think about it. I like Dr Hyman and trust his dietary advice. He seems to rely on the science when it comes to his health knowledge which is why I am really surprised how he keeps pushing the “climate change” issue. It might be prudent to research climate science a little more thoroughly.

We have to unfortunately cut down packaged food, refined oils/processed foods, cereals, also items that include sugar/white flour plus all processed drinks. So Whole Foods, such as organic veggies, some seasonal fruit & healthy grains are good. Meat sourced humanely & naturally also wild caught fish are good. Most meat & fish are farm grown unnaturally including GMOs. Beware of those. Healthy fats from nuts, avocado & olive oil are good for us 👍🏼👍🏼

@@williamhartman9 No, but diverticulosis are pockets in your intestinal wall they are more or less weaknesses. If a nut or a seed gets lodged in the pocket it can cause great distress and infection. It can cause real Hell. So though nuts and seeds are good for you, they can cause horrible problems for someone with diverticulosis. It is one of the things physicians check for when you get a colonoscopy.

I find it to be quite a reach to connect every social justice issue to one's diet...doctor. America is an amazing food producer, when only 3% of the entire population works directly at the farm gate. Automation and shall we say...fertilizers and some pesticides create the opportunity to feed every man, woman and child. Maybe we should go back in time and have everyone working on a farm to produce their own food. Agriculture in our country is second to none and has allowed people in our society to pursue their dreams and not have to worry about food shortages. I think we are all smart enough to know what is healthy and what to avoid.

Dr Hyman thinks nobody can disagree with his pegan diet! I watched an interview with Dr Mark Hyman and found it very disturbing! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYOvlplvgNB9d6M “Peganism” is something he has written 14 books on, astonishingly many of which were New York Times best sellers! 🤯 His bastardisation of the truth boils down to another pocket lining fad diet. He “claims” his “middle of the road” diet is better on environmental grounds, but seems to have a total moral disconnect towards animals. There is no ethical middle of the road! Whilst I applaud his condemnation of dairy, factory farmed and processed food as poisonous to the human body. He is however encouraging people to use sheep and goat milk, free range eggs and grass fed beef! 😳 He uses blue zones to support his theories where people live the longest. 🌱 While blue zones do have a high plant and low meat content, the less the meat the longer the longevity, so this is nonsense and does not prove his diet to be a gold standard. “Averaging out consumption in blue zones, people ate about two ounces or less about five times per month. And we don’t know if they lived longer despite eating meat. People who lived the longest were vegans or pesco vegetarians, who ate a plant-based diet that included a small amount of fish.” www.bluezones.com/recipes/food-guidelines/ He even uses an anecdote of a friend who went vegan and couldn’t lift weights after 3 days! He talks about veganism alongside Palio like it is simply a diet and doesen’t seem to care or understand what it is all about. He argues you should “eat what god made,” but what about what god wants? Hundreds of studies have shown that animal protein and heme iron are linked to cancer and are bad for the human body. 😷 Any amount of meat is bad for the human body however it is produced. 🤒 www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fonc.2019.01540/full Also if he cares so much about the environment, then how does he think everyone being on grass fed beef would work out? 🔥🌍 www.ox.ac.uk/news/2017-10-03-grass-fed-beef-good-or-bad-climate His work is nonsense and based on anecdotes and logical fallacies and is all about supporting his theories and lining his pockets. He simply uses a few truths to sweeten his lies. I find his total lack of regard for animals and his ideology which is subtlely and yet clearly based on human superiority and dominion, sickening! 🤬 If you want trustworthy well researched dietary advice then go here. ➡️ kzbin.info kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp61nHyXj5KUfZI
