Nice build, it turned out sweet. Gearing up to start mine in a few weeks, have 500 gal propane tank and plan to use a smaller tank for warmer but going to make my box out of 1/4" plate.

How did it turn out?
@raulrodriguez69874 жыл бұрын
Would I have any problems reaching a coocking temperature if I add a box on top of the firebox? What I mean is to place another 5 briskets in that box.
@LewisRenovation4 жыл бұрын
I would think it would work if you made the firebox, air vents, and chimney bigger.

Thinking of building at minimum a 40 x 60 shop. Might build the ibeam frame and roof so I can use it and later the concrete and walls. I helped weld a 24x30 for my father and you can barely walk in there.

It's a Hypertherm 30XP. Rock solid machine. I've missed the gouge function on the bigger machines but other than that it's perfect. My dad has a M.A. in Music Theory so I grew up listening to classic music. Hello from Texas.

Would 3/16" thick plate be as good as 1/4" thick plate and BBQ smoker last as long outside?
@LewisRenovation6 жыл бұрын
3/16 will last x2 lifetimes every where except the firebox. Which the bottom will probably rust out in 15 years. Even my 1/4 I just assume I'm going to have to replace the bottom sometime in the distant future.
