Just found this, what a great and intresting interview with Tim. Had the pleasure of meeting him once way back in 1980. He mastered our first Album at CBS. Again fascinating interview.

Had the great opportunity to hang out with Tim last year at Metropolis. Really awesome engineer who's happy to share his thoughts on mastering.

That Neumann lathe was a game changer.

The Pultec equalizer made its first appearance in the early 1950s. Mastering started the minute it was realized that precautions needed to be taken to keep a playback needle in a record groove, well over a CENTURY ago.. Bill P.

would love to hear his thoughts on the clipper softwares coming out nowadays. they help with loudness a lot without TOTALLY damaging the entire wave (kinda does damage the peaks, i know lol, but still) btw thank you lewitt!

If you remaster an album and like the original master better, then you have a problem.
