For the 100 bucks I'd go with the shimano slx or a daiwa fuego or even the lews speed spool lfs

I love my matching combo and I own 5 different baitcaster combos and love them all. Lews is a nice small size and fits womens hands well.

bluegill lipless caught two largemouth along the seawall south of metro with that Shimano SLX. I even caught one on the spillway with a spinnerbait. I'm starting to gain a good feel for a baitcaster and I'm ready to buy a $80 dollar rod to match the SLX up with. Going to Cabelas tomorrow so I need help QUICK! There are over 50 spotted gar in a 10x10ft space just west of the 16 mile bridge on the spillway. Very few bass and too many damn carp. Couple more days of prespawn and they're gonna start bedding. So thankful for the reel, I cant thank you enough.

I just got one hopefully it delivers. I'm tired of my Abu Garcia Black Max on my heavy rod.

This reel will be a nice improvement I think from the black max. The SLX XT May also be worth a look for a heavy rod

@@JCDropshot I can't believe it's been a year already. I got it and this reel casts far and it's very smooth. Made a cast and pulled another rod to the water, ever since it makes a vibrating sound when I cast. It was totally my fault but aside from the sound it still works amazingly.

I noticed that you cast with the right hand and switch hands to reel with the right hand. Do you know what percentage of people do the same thing as you? Good video and review.

No idea . I can cast with both my left and right hand. I just feel more comfortable doing most techniques with the rod in that hand while fishing.🤷‍♂️

I haven’t got it yet but my only negative to this was the “orange” color. Matched with the black and cork rod it look badass though! Would you recommend a rod to grab with it IF we don’t buy the combo? Thanks bro I really like the video, just to the point and you included more info than most people have, I have no idea it came with that much drag! And it’s not plastic! And shielded bearings! Let’s go!

Hello! 1st vid of yours I've seen. Nice, to the point, review. I bought the LEWS MACH SMASH baitcaster combo about a week ago. Haven't been able to use it yet instead I got the boat and trailer out of storage this week. Certainly looking forward to using it asap. Nice to know that you liked the reel. Nice that you mentioned the matching rod was decent enough. The bright color...love that !! Easy to see on the boat's deck when scurrying around for a scale or quick net 👍❤. I don't have to scurry too often -- but it's nice to NOT step on a setup, ya know! Well, there ya have it. Thanks for a good video on the SMASH.

My Mach smash is smoother and definetly casts further than my Mach2. Even Kickin Their Bass Tv made similar comments. so dont take my word for it.
