The law has changed about farming here in the Netherlands,the govt is making it hard to farm esp with the nitrogen issue forgetting that without farm you cant eat, greetings from the Netherlands (am a Kenyan too by the way)

@@sorin990 i don't know, this is a guess but it probably cost a lot like millions. For the raising they live in a area with wet soil wich is not good for building. In the video you can see them putting poles in the ground, these make sure the building doesn't 'sink' into the ground.

Amazing video. I dont think people realise how difficult groundworks are in wet and soggy Holland compared to basically anywhere else in the world. I would love to be a fly on the wall to see when this masive investment break even. Good luck , and happy farming.

@@DirtyYetClean22clay ground here meaning if you don't go that far the clay shrinks in when dry and your building will "sink". A good example of what happens is the Oldehove tower in Leeuwarden which was built without using such poles and you can see the tower is as crooked as the tower of Pisa now because the clay ground compacts so you need poles that go deeper than clay ground to make sure that kind of stuff doesn't happen.

Lex Buisman I could imagine🤯 Just a follow up question. Where are the milking parlor, and given that it’s a brand new farm, and very importantly located in the Netherlands. It must be some high tech efficient milking process that you have now? I always admired the Dutch the way they decided to completely reinvent their agricultural sector. That was absolutely insane how you changed the entire industry. And now are the biggest exporter of agriculture in the world!

It took 18 years to make this happen so we saved a bit up. We try to be a low cost farm by doing most work by ourself.

Did you recieve any subsidies to build this either from your own country or from the EU.. if you did what % of cost did you get. Great build.. reminds me of the updates every three or so days from a drone of the new Tottenham stadium.. Drones have changed the way we look and see things so much for the better. Like when there is a drought months long like a couple years back a drone could spot old settlements because of the colour of the ground.

I mean telehandlers, tower cranes, mini and standard bulldozers, concrete pump truck, etc. Is this of easy access to any person, proving the have the money for rental fees in the Netherlands or did you hire a contractor/construction company to take care everything including the equipment? I'm just curious.

@@Mike-qv3pz Ik vind een stal en schuur bouwen in 3.5 maand aardig snel zonder heien meegerekend. Er zijn in totaal 1400 heipalen erin gedrukt. Al het grondwerk was voor onze rekening.

@@LexBuisman Zo in detail had ik niet naar de datums gekeken, ik had vooral gekeken dat het 1 jaar en 2 maanden had geduurd. En als je zelf het grondwerk hebt gedaan kan ik het begrijpen dat het zolang heeft geduurd. Wij zelf hadden 2 kippenstallen laten bouwen en vanaf het grondwerk begon (aanvoer van ong. 6000 opleggers grond) tot de kippen kwamen duurde 5 maanden. Het grondwerk hebben we echter niet zelf gedaan, de stallen waren op een helling gepositioneerd dus moest dit opgehoogd en gestabiliseerd worden tot wel 6 meter op sommige punten.

That is some serious cash. I hope it works out for you all. Also, the color of the blue clay is fascinating as I presume this was all reclaimed land? Also I see the roof has solar, would It be feasible to cover the whole massive roof to generate extra income via the power if you have buy back schemes where you are? I know it's likley going to be 10+ years to pay off the cost but just a thought.

Hahahaha, half of the Netherlands was marsh heck most of the country is below sea level. Don't worry if there's one people that knows how to build on those lands it's the Dutch.

zooo, dat je dat financieel nog lukt in deze tijd met deze melkprijs! tegenwoordig is het bedroevend, tussen geit en koe zit al snel 40 center per liter verschil.

We zijn 18 jaar bezig geweest voor enige vorm van uitbreiding of verplaatsing, dus er was al wat opgebouwd. De melkprijs is inderdaad bedroevend helaas.

@@LexBuisman ik vind het wel super dat je het gelukt is. hier in de buurt, gld-veluwe hoor ik dat er iedere week wel 1 stopt, geen kleine prutsboertjes maar ook echt grote bedrijven. met droge jaren als nu kan het gewoon niet meer, zeker niet op die droge zandgrond.
