Huh. I was wrong no matter what. I didn't say "The British are coming", but I did say "The Red Coats are coming". I wonder where I got that from....huh. Anyways, no the I didn't even notice the light on the wall till you pointed it...but then you pointed it out and I can't seem to stop looking at it now.

Haha. I have done my job! Also, "The Redcoats Are Coming" was another famous phrase attributed to him as well.

I should have previewed this before I showed it to my students. I watched the first couple minutes, saw it was educational and interesting, and then showed it to my 5th grade class - only to be mortified at the profanity. After the second "beep" (that comes nowhere near disguising what word is being used), I turned it off. What a pity. It could have been a good resource.

Not personally offended, but the flag should be on the speaker's right. Otherwise, I found the video very humorous and historically accurate.

I am offended as an English person, I was not taught these things. Don't discriminate But seriously, I love this channel, it has just fuelled my recent love for American history.

if you truly study the events of Lexington, it is more probable it was the British who fired the first shot.

Also, Revere was not the greatest "warner" he just had good PR. Some young girl rode side-saddle, out into the country, and she warned a herd of farmers. Revere and his buddy got drunk in a tavern, and 2 Brits heard them. Boing! You gotta cover that other half, including that crazy poem! A cruel history teacher made me memorize it as a kid. Surely you must also torture the current generation! There is historical precedent! LOL!

Agreed. These videos are so good and the curse words are unnecessary. Unfortunately, I can’t share or recommend as long as they include words that students are not allowed to use. Do swear words ever add to a subject? Since Shakespeare....Crude words and obscenities were always added to appeal to the uneducated listener in the audience, so they could be entertained as well. Therefore, I equate (and teach) that the use of such language shows a lack of education as well as intellect. My personal opinion as a parent and teacher.

And while you are at it, tell people about the BREED's HILL vs Bunker Hill thing. Yesa, I do recall a few things from 45 years ago. And I am a history buff. Despite getting expelled from high school. Some evil history teacher got me back in! Him and the ResPlan and the FIM teacher. Which goes to show, even the bad kids.... can be good.

Paul Revere was captured on the Lexington Lincoln town line by an advanced patrol of British Officers, they also detained a young man who was trying to sneak home after visiting his girlfriend that night (true story), When the chance came, Revere spurred his horse leaped over a stone wall and rode north into a farmers field that is now Hanscom Air Force Base, he doubled back to Lexington and woke Sam Adams, John Hancock. Healso helped those two, who were also the targets of the British Armies incursion into Middlesex County, bring the papers and treasury of the Massachusetts Provincial Safety Committe (The first shadow government in the war) North to the relative safety of Billerica Mass. As for that young man who was caught on the walk of shame.. They let him go, he ran the three miles to Concord center and raised the alarm, so 5 hours later the British walked into a ghost town and looked onto the wooded ridges surrounding the town center. Ther they saw 1,ooo's of Massachusetts Militia men from every town in a 30 mile radius commanding higher ground and being rapidly enforced. Lord Pearcy must have shit his pants, he knew it would be a long brutal 21 mile walk back to Boston.
