The scenery is spectacular Robert. Lexington,Ky and surrounding areas are some of the most beautiful in the south/nation . Plus, with the Horses and Bourbon. What an amazing area. Awesome video Robert.

I'm from Kentucky....my home state is very beautiful. Just a quick input, Versailles, is pronounced with a long A, like in the word sail.... Ver-sails. We don't say it like the French do, or say it with a fancy twist. We're just country. LOL But you made me giggle with the narrating and the cool accent... loved the video, and seeing others love visiting where I grew up. Lexington and all the surrounding areas has been my home, and I'll never grow tired of it.

Now that is Kentucky. One of my favorite States, along with Florida sunsets. Those fields with white fences, the country roads, the rolling land, the horses neighing in the fields jumping and playing. How beautiful. Bob Ross use to say, you never make a mistake. When you took what you called a wrong turn, I want to say,....You took a right turn. What a ride and you would have missed it had you gone another way. Loved it. Oh yes and your "momma," what a treasure. Each time she was taking pictures, she wanted to be just like her son. Your mother is so very precious. She also makes you a better person every day because of her unconditional love for you. You are all absolutely precious and everything that the United States and Canada are all about. My mother is 83 this year. I remember picking her from from where she lived and taking her to Washington, DC to see the fireworks on the mall. Every year since then she has watched the DC fireworks, and I with her and my children. I now understand it is not the fireworks; but the time with family that matters. Moms show us these things. HAPPY 4TH.

As a teacher, I love the historical places you take us, as well as the National Parks. I have an assignment for you. Type these words into Google and listen to their pronunciation: dandelion, Amish and Colonel. You are a role model and can teach people how to say names of locations correctly.

Lexington is in Fayette County, named for Marquis de LaFayette in recognition of his help during the Revolutionary War. Paris is in Bourbon County, named for the ruling family in France at the time. Naming is less due to direct French influence than for gratitude to France for its help in gaining America’s independence from Great Britain. Thanks for highlighting our beautiful state. We have a lot to offer to visitors.

What a shock to see your video today. I'm visiting family in Lexington this week, and we drove on those exact roads today! I know you shot this earlier, since it was hot today, and your mom has a jacket on! But you captured great samples of the beauty of this area. The horse farms are my favorite areas. By the way, they produce Versailles "ver sales" here!

Great video, Robert. You make things so interesting and you’re a good narrator. Being a horse person, I was a little disappointed that you didn’t go to the horse event that was going on when you were there. Minitini was parked right next door. That Rolex event has some of the best horse athletes in the world, and the cross country event is the best! They go over what look like impossible barriers, and the jumps are so high. Maybe next time?

That area Lexington/Frankfort is where I'd summer ( to be nearer my friend in south western Indiana ) it would still be the south Technically. And it's kinda hilly ( like I'm used to ) but not the mountains of Eastern Ky. Even if it snows like a booger there I would just winter in Fl. My husband could also easily find work in the capitol. I tend to like capitol city's. Like Tally. Hey you forgot to say "Gallop Horsey Gallop!" LOL

Been waiting for this one, Robert!! Only you could represent so beautifully why we love living in this area so well, thank you so much. So glad you enjoyed your time here (I didn't even know Lexington had a walking tour so thanks for that as well!) Those burgers and grilled onions looked fantastic and perfect way to end the day - now I have to ask...did you end up buying the Derby edition Woodford Reserve? ;-) Hopefully next time you're up this way we can meet up and share more KY IPA's! Safe travels~
